Super impressed that with the hot weather this weekend you managed to stick to NSDs.. GO YOU!! haha the sun makes me wanna be out and spending ha, although I managed to restrict it this weekend.
Congratulations on getting to a stage where you have no spends on the CCs that is amazing.
Thank you
I did work 12:30 - 5:30 and 12:30-4:00 over the weekend so that helped with not being able to spend :rotfl: I had meant to get some bits before work on Sunday, but got stuck in traffic on the way to work which ate up all the time I had set aside for being in town before work - that helped too :rotfl:
Car went into the local mechanic yesterday as it's leaking a bit of oil, he's changed a few bits for £60 but he said it is an old car and it's not a huge leak. Either way, I've been able to factor that into my budget quite comfortably, too.0 -
I wangled a 2 hour £17ish study on Prolific today which was paid almost immediately and took my balance to £20.20. I combined this with a whopping 28p payout from TCB, and made an overpayment of £20.48 to DT1.
With the expenses I am still waiting for and some user testing payments due this month, by the time the next payment is scheduled to hit DT1, the balance will be £159/£228 and £189/£228 once the August Direct Debit has hit, I'm sure I can make an extra £39 between then and now to make sure it is cleared on the next payday
Dentist today, which was relatively painless and I had budgeted the £22.70 for the checkup. They have recommended the hygienist but that's not doable in the budget this month, so will have to wait.
OH has also been to view two houses today and he liked one of them enough, so we will be looking to apply for it subject to the landlord being ok with my satisfied CCJ, but the EA said as long as I can prove it is satisfied, it should be fine0 -
Haha I guess working is a pretty good way to save money. Ah poor luck with the car but at least its able to be budgeted for. Hope you get some good news re the house soon, it must be getting frustrating playing the waiting game.

Awesome result on the Prolific survey, they seem to have dried up for me this week. Fingers crossed on the house & sounds like your budget is really working for you at the moment, well done x0

Dan - very much so frustrating, we literally need somewhere by the end of this month so it is getting a bit stressful
Thank you DITR - yes very lucky with that one, I think there were only 5 places in total for the study and I was surprised to get the last one - normally by the time it says one place left and I click it, it's gone :rotfl: I know what you mean, there are barely any at the moment0 -
It's been a slow and non-eventful two days, I will be grateful for a bit of a lie-in on Sunday, it's so hot lately that I keep waking up in the night!
Good news front - OH went to view a house today, has everything we need, put forward that he was interested (we luckily got priority over another family as we are on a very tight deadline) and got a call earlier to say the landlord was happy to have us as her tenants so he is going in tomorrow to pay the holding deposit and start things off. All being well, we can now breathe a sigh of relief that we have somewhere to move to!
I'm looking forward to this weekend, I have a longish shift tomorrow but we are out for our 2 year anniversary in the evening so I am looking forward to that. Speaking of work, I need to try and have a word and ask if I'm allowed to request that I only do my contracted hours on the Saturday we would need to move and no overtime, as I can't really ditch OH for the day and leave him to do it all himself. I don't think it's an unfair request, I'm only contracted for 3 hours per day at the weekend so I'm hoping I'm allowed to ask to do just that as a one-off?
We need to start thinking about packing now, too, as it's only 3 weeks and that will come round much sooner than planned. Luckily we now have two extra suitcases since moving to where we are now, so clothing should be less of an issue. I will suggest to OH that he evaluates how many suits he needs though as he has about 15 and does not wear that many at all.
A few hours ago I was worried about whether I would get my hair cut, whether I could use my money off voucher for Sainsburys as they had sent it linked to the wrong Nectar card, whether we would have somewhere to live... much more chilled now :rotfl:0 -
Congratulations on bagging your new home!
Could you ask a workmate to swap shifts with you, that way your employer has a 'body' in and you can supervise the moveMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Yay to the new house, what a relief for you. Hope work do the right thing & allow you to do your contracted hours on that day x0

Fantastic news on the house front...now the fun bit of packing starts Yay!. So glad it is sorted though it must be such a relief to know you don't have that to worry about anymore.Days to Orlando: 462- ☀️🎢0

Yes such a relief!
I spoke to our manager yesterday and she outright said she would be totally fine with it if I wanted to book the day as holiday, and she did it then and there for me. I'm going to book off the day before from my full time job, too, so that I have a full day beforehand to get the last few bits done rather than just the evening when I get in from work.
Made an extra payment to debt target one of £7.74 (user testing payment) and dinner came in £5 cheaper for my share than I planned for, so I will be paying that to it now, too.
Once the extra money comes in, I need to pick up a single bed frame for the new house which I've found one very cheaply provided it's in store, but other than that most of the stuff we have now will fit into the new house perfectly.
Yes, the fun of packing begins, I've managed to fill up four boxes so far with just books! (we are major bookworms!!)
I think the trick will be to do a bit every day, little and often, because the three weeks will fly by!0
