Grr to the heating, I hope that bleeding the radiators works, it could be trapped air.
Have a great day xx
You tooSSDD23, I know it's an expense, but it's quite useful having one of those little oil-filled radiators for situations where the heating doesn't work - the central heating/boiler always seems to break down in the winter when it's really cold! You can move the little radiators from room to room because they're on wheels and they're quite cheap to run. It's just a useful backup.
We have one at work I think, I will just ferry that to and from home if neededSayschezza wrote: »I am a great believer in a squirt of WD40 for most things that stick.
We also have some of this at work, I shall give it a go :rotfl:0 -
I have managed to count up the things I have left at home, despite managing to bring gym clothes to work :rotfl:
- my headphones
- my key thing that tracks my exercise
- my hoody (which holds my keys and phone whilst I am on machines, albeit not being worn)
So, I will need to go home, and have tried to talk myself out of going about a million times, however I have struck a deal with myself that I can have a cup of tea with some biscuits dunked in, if I go to the gym!
My rough POA now stands at:
- get home
- get changed
- have a quick tidy up
- list my car stereo on FB marketplace
- take the bin out the front ready for the morning
- make the bed
Most importantly here, however, is DO NOT SIT DOWN :rotfl:
I should be fine, the bribe of a few biscuits will be enough.0 -

I did all that, went to the gym, AND mopped downstairs - a productive evening indeed :T
Nothing worked to fix the radiator, so it's not anything simple. I have told OH he NEEDS to contact the EA today to get something arranged for someone to come and take a look, so hopefully they won't wait too long to do that.
Still on track with my SE work, weird to believe that in less than a month it should all be gone, I am going to sit down on New Year's Day and work out a future budget, for the month's when I will be overpaying my car finance, and then after. I will also get a boost in income in April, when I have finished repaying tax that I underpaid in 2017
I am hoping to get up and visit my family before Christmas at the seaside, so I can take up their gifts and cards and not have to worry about that, then. I am mostly asking for gift cards for Christmas if people ask, to be able to get some nice stuff for the house in the sales after Christmas. OH and I will also be looking to purchase a bed in the post-Christmas sales, as the one we have at the moment is on its last legs, and massively uncomfortable!
Right, time to crack on with some money-making0 -
Helloooo world - our radiator is fixed at last :T:T much nicer this morning to wake up and be cosy warm.
My weekend of doing lots of extra hours was thwarted by being severely unwell over the weekend, and basically spent my weekend either laying on the sofa or running to the toilet. Nevertheless, there should be the opportunity for some extra hours this week, so hopefully I'll still make enough to bust most of the debt. Anything leftover can be paid off with my salary I get in December if I need to
I am still waiting for Paypal to balance itself out, once that has happened, I can cash out some pennies from Prolific and Qmee, and make a (small) payment to CC2.
We also ordered a new bed yesterday, OH has some mortgage refund money so we got a bed reduced in the black Friday sales rather than wait for the boxing day sales, as ours is literally falling apart, I will pay him back probably in the New Year for my halfit's not coming for a few weeks but I can't wait to be able to sleep comfortably again :rotfl: at the moment, whenever he moves it wakes me up as all of the slats and frame move around :rotfl:

Thank you both - still a bit tired from it, and also not sleeping well due to the bed, I think we are just going to dismantle the bed and sleep on the mattress until the new one arrives :rotfl:
Going to be another NSD for me today, brought my laptop to work so I can also work through my lunch hour, and don't plan on stopping anywhere on the way home from work, so should not need to buy anything.
I will hopefully get paid this Friday as the date I get paid falls on a Saturday, then I need to sit down and work out my budget to a tee for next month, and see where things stand.
That's all I can think of for now, must be time for coffee :rotfl:0 -
Hope you feel a bit brighter soon hun.
Yay to the radiator being fixed.
Have a great day xx0 -
if it should move and doesn't = WD40,
If it moves and it shouldn't = Gaffer tape / superglue!Sayschezza wrote: »I am a great believer in a squirt of WD40 for most things that stick.0 -

Haha, that's great :rotfl:
I don't think I mentioned, but it was the actual plastic top that you turn to change the temperature that was the issue, that's off for now and the radiator works, they're going to bring us a new one at some point but no rush0
