  • WOW! GO YOU! What a journey and you are so close to getting to the debt free place. You have done so well and made some very wise choices. I think getting the new car is defo the right move for the long term , glad you feel comfortable in it :)

    Well done :D x

    Thank you :D

CC balance on the one I cleared has now updated, makes a change to zeros on debt balances rather than bank balances :rotfl:

OH is working literally all weekend this weekend, so that gives me PLENTY of time to get some extra work done, I am literally going to do as much as I am allowed to do over the next 2 weeks, I will get it all cleared next month!!!

My car advert on eBay finishes tomorrow, still confident I'll get an offer in the range I want before then, as it is the weekend tomorrow and people would be able to come and collect it/see it.

Got a little pot in Monzo called my "OP Pot" which I'm paying my little odds and sods that I make into, went to phone CC2 and discovered I can hear my balance AND make payments on their automated phone thing, so don't need to order a new card for the app. However, as I'll be phoning up and making payments, it'll be easier to do this on a weekly basis or something similar, rather than making calls for small amounts :rotfl: my plan is still to allocated £100 from my car sale to CC2, and then keep the rest tucked aside for the last few Christmas bits and pieces.

I am still waiting for my £100 deposit to be returned by the car dealer, should have been yesterday so I have chased that up this morning and requested it done ASAP - they are supposed to be sending it back via bank transfer, so there won't be any wait once they actually process it.

Glad it's Friday, it's hard getting up in the dark in the mornings at the moment, and obviously it's dark when I get home, so just feel tired all of the time :rotfl:

I am looking forward to finally being able to do our weekly food shop at my own pace again tomorrow night, it's been a pain in the butt trying to go at other times when it is inevitably busier. I like my Saturday evening potter around when it's quieter :D

It is indeed, savings into a LISA for a house purchase in the future, and general savings also :)

Thank you :o I got very lucky with taking on the SE online work, that has turned things around for me completely. He has indeed, has cleared his credit cards and is building savings :)

That is good so you are both now almost in a position to start focusing on savings fo4 your house etc once your last 2 debts are gone.

Yes we are so closing to starting our life of saving and not paying debts :D

I have FINALLY got my £100 back from the car dealership after two emails and two phone calls, and being hung up on

Going to swing by Argos on our way home and pick up our Christmas tree decorations and some house decorations, this is my retailer of choice as I know I get cashback via Airtime rewards, so pays off in the long run. I am going to try my utmost not to spend any more money this weekend, it all depends if my Nan wants to do something tomorrow - if she comes over to visit me, we generally go and play bingo.

It feels odd not panicking about last minute Christmas presents... I need to chase up with my siblings what they would like, and my folks in Oz, but most people are done and dusted. I need to pick up a few more cards next week (meant to do this today, but left my list at home) and get stamps put on them ready to send off in December.

I am going to force myself to the gym this evening. Once I've gone back once, it will feel like routine again, it's just going back that first time. Then I'm going to do a cupboard and freezer audit and get a shopping list ready. It's hard to meal plan for next week as OH is down to work every single day other than Monday but this will inevitably change when someone says they can help out, but we won't know probably until the day before!

    Happy Friday Folks :D

Hope you make it to the gym.

Great that your overall credit balances have come down so far. Glad ES asked the questions burning in my mind about the car LOL and that you have it all in hand.

hi SSDD23 - I didn't realise you had a diary! Well done on clearing 8 debts out of 10, that's hard work!
  • Morning all!

I didn't make it to the gym, was quite poorly over the weekend so didn't do much other than the food shopping and laying on the sofa! Better now though :)

A scrappy is coming for my car tonight, I keep getting let down by people coming to view it and it's costing me £27 a day to keep it parked on my drive as I can't SORN it yet, so they're coming to collect it tonight, albeit I will be removing my bluetooth stereo and refitting the old one so that I can sell the stereo separately. I'll just be glad to get it off the drive and be done with it to be perfectly honest, it seems the car wants to give me trouble even after I've stopped driving it :rotfl:

Got a target I need to make with my online work to be able to be debt-free, and it is quite achievable, so cannot wait for next month for it all to be gone :)

OH is working all weekend again, so plenty of time to get lots of hours done this weekend. I should have gotten quite a big amount done this weekend, but I just had no energy all weekend so need to double my efforts this week :rotfl:

Right, time to crack on with some work and start working towards my target invoice amount!
  • Lord I am tired today *stifles yawn*

I must remember to check the traffic before I leave today, it always seems to be horrendous heading out of town on a Monday, and I'm sure there will be a different way I can go to avoid it, if I remember to check in advance!

I am hoping OH will have dinner on/ready by the time I get home, though no doubt he will text me asking what we are having for dinner tonight. I'm almost certain he could do all of the meal planning and shopping by himself, and still need a reminder of what we are eating on any given day. :wall:

Scrappy guy is coming at 7, will be a relief to finally have the car off the drive and not worrying about insuring it every day, or stressing about having to parallel park behind someone who has parked extremely selfishly in the double bay over the road :rotfl: super annoying when you're used to just being able to pull up on your own driveway!

The lower amount I am accepting for the car to be taken as scrap does mean I can't pay the £100 I had wanted to off of CC2, but this has been factored into my target amount to make before the end of the month, so all good :)

Just a bit longer to plough through with work, then time for the drive home - once again I am grateful for my heated seats and steering wheel! I am going to see if I can figure out the cruise control stuff at some point this week, too :rotfl:

Good to see you are enjoying the new luxuries on the car :rotfl::rotfl: the little things eh! Try not think of it preventing you hitting the £100 target but as of a victory getting rid of it off your drive.

Ps I hope you enjoyed dinner....whatever it turns out to be haha x

It is finally off of the drive and out of my life - good riddance :rotfl: :rotfl:

It was pasta bake, and he did in fact remember so I shall eat my words :rotfl:
  • Is it unprofessional to wear gloves at work?! Lovely and toasty under my desk, but as the room is so big, anything above the desk (e.g. my hands) isn't really getting warm!

Little errands to run on my lunch break today, namely paying in the money I got from my car for the rest of the bills that are due to come out (paying to insure two cars temporarily massively ate into my available funds this month ) and see if I can't find myself a scarf, at the moment I am stealing OH's as he has two days off, so doesn't really need it sat at home :rotfl:

When I get home tonight, I am going to list my stereo for sale on FB, purely because I can't be bothered with any more eBay fees after my car failed to sell on there.

When I know for definite how much I am invoicing for at the end of the month, I need to get my budget watertight, as with the car finance now coming out before the SE wages come in, I need to make sure I don't end up shooting myself in the foot!

I'm kinda just procrastinating with this post, plenty of extra pennies I could be making, so I should get back to that! X
