  • I am so convinced I made the right choice upgrading the car, I feel much more comfortable and safer when driving, and the heated seats are a bonus in this weather :D !

Planning a NSD today, I have brought my lunch with me to work and don't plan on heading out anywhere to spend anything, so no reason for it not to be one.

I am going to make myself go to the gym this evening, I have been putting it off in a sulk over the car drama, but more motivated to go now that things have calmed down.

Not that the score makes an ounce of difference to anything, but it's nice to see my credit score improving on every CRA website, mostly because I know I am doing things that are having a good impact on my credit file i.e. paying off debts.

Redeemed another £5 from Airtime Rewards today, that's £15-£20 off of my phone bill this coming month :)

I really need to phone up CC2 at some point today and query whether I can somehow log in or pay without the card, or whether I need to order a new one to download the app, then cut it straight up again. Annoying that they've changed it, but it won't be my problem for much longer!

Not much other than that to report for today, as they say, no news is good news! :rotfl:
  • Happy new car and happy travels :D xx
  • Good morning you lovely lot :hello:

No pay today, so it'll come tomorrow the same time as the deposit I paid for the car, so CC3 will be done and dusted tomorrow. I might be able to pay off a little from CC2, but mostly just waiting for my car to (hopefully) be bought by the end of the week, and pay off £100 or so from that.

That will leave me with 2 CC's to pay off by the end of the year, which should be just about do-able. If I squeeze in as much of my SE work as possible, I should be able to clear them with just that. If not, I can wipe off the last little remainder when I get paid from my FT job in December.

Thankfully, with two pay cheques now, January shouldn't be the horrendous squeeze that it normally is, though my plan is to pay my wages to a different account until my usual payday, and then transfer it back on payday, to avoid wasting it just because it is there.

I reduced the price on my car a little, and now have 4 watchers, so feeling positive.

Aiming for another NSD today, though there are a couple of bits I will need to pick up tomorrow, so that will be an intentionally spendy day (ISD?) tomorrow :)

We are off out for dinner tomorrow with some friends who "owe us one" as they have put it, as we bought them dinner a while ago, so that will be free and I will just need to pay 50p for parking - I'm wary of parking it on the street after what happened the other week, so will pop it in a proper car park whilst we are having dinner. I have told OH he should let me drive us so he can relax and have a beer :)

I really, really will get round to phoning CC3 today, I don't know why I keep putting it off :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • CC3 has been paid off, debt total is now £1871.72.

On payday I will have around £250 to snowball from the debts I have paid off, the usual DD payments to the debts, and I am hoping to have earned enough from my SE work to be able to clear everything, if not it will be paid from my FT job December pay.

Never thought my debt would be in the one thousands anytime soon! :j :j

Got two offers on the car on eBay yesterday, not anything I was willing to accept, but good to know people are testing the waters.

Short and sweet update, off to update my sig x
  • That will be great seeing the CCs gone by the end of the year if not before. All 10 debts done and dusted. Presumably you will be attacking the new car finance next year or have you leased it?

I will most certainly be attacking the new car finance, I had planned to set aside money for 2-3 months in savings to buy it outright, so will use this money each month to overpay, and eventually settle :)
  • Excellent. Well done. Presumably it is then on to savings?

  • If you read your first post on this diary back in June just five months ago it is inspiring how far you have come. Has your partner sold his marital home yet?

It is indeed, savings into a LISA for a house purchase in the future, and general savings also :)

Thank you :o I got very lucky with taking on the SE online work, that has turned things around for me completely. He has indeed, has cleared his credit cards and is building savings :)
  • WOW! GO YOU! What a journey and you are so close to getting to the debt free place. You have done so well and made some very wise choices. I think getting the new car is defo the right move for the long term , glad you feel comfortable in it :)
