Oh! I think that's the first negative thing I've read about the wrap stuff :rotfl: I think I will try a small section and see how it goes, if its naff as you say then I'll go back to the drawing board :rotfl:0 -
Happy Tuesday! :j
Three things I am grateful for this morning:
- Some nice family time spent with my Nan yesterday evening
- Swallowing a frog and asking for a refund for my knee support (first one with silicone grip flared my skin up, alternative non-silicone grip isn't easing the pain) so should have £15 coming back
- Being able to keep calm driving on the motorway with a daddy long legs flapping around inside my car :rotfl: :rotfl:
Dentist today, have the money for that, nice to think that it's just coming out of my actual money now, when I first starting going again it all went on my CC. I do need to see the hygienist at some point but it will just have to wait until it fits into my budget. As long as I start using my water flosser and gum treatment mouthwash again, I should be good for a few months until I can book it in.
This time next week (possibly at the end of this week) the debt will drop to under £2.5k.
I am hoping to be able to do a bank account switch this month which will earn me £125, there is another that offers £75 but the £125 is only for a limited time, so will see to the second one later on in the year. It's actually nice to be accepted for these accounts, gone are the days when all I was offered was a basic bank account.
Anyway, if I get the £125, that will go straight to the third debt I had originally planned to clear this month, that is now being pushed back in order to get Christmas sorted.
More and more Christmas bits (Cards, etc) are now appearing in the shops, spotted more card displays in Asda yesterday so I should be able to get some more of the 3 for £3 nice family cards, and then will probably pick up a cheap box of cards for people that don't need specific ones.
Bonus as well, I got a new card through from Matalan with a reusable 10% off voucher inside, and some of the gifts/wrapping I have on my list are from there, so money saved also :T
That's enough random waffling for one post - time to check out some diaries (I have been slacking here lately - sorry guys!!!)0 -

Morning MSE'rs!
Three things I am grateful for this morning:
- a relatively smooth dentist appointment
- being able to grab the daddy long legs that reappeared and throw it out of my car window
- coffee (that one feels like a cop out, but it is cold and I am tired!)
Today will be a NSD, I have lunch with me, and nothing I need to get, so will be keeping myself firmly rooted at work and not venture out into the town centre.
My Amazon refund should appear in my bank account and some point today, which is good.
I only need a few more personal Christmas cards, and a box of nice generic ones, then all the cards will be sorted (and written!!!!) well in advance of when I normally get them sorted - I'm normally running round in December picking out the best of the dregs left in the shops :rotfl:
OH's suit should be arriving on Friday, absolutely no idea how I am going to wrap that  maybe I'll have to get a big box or something.
I'm itching to get paid and get the bulk of the Christmas shopping done, now. Oh, and get the Christmas tree ordered :rotfl:
No panicking at the last minute for SSDD this year! :T0 -
Coffee is always a thing to be thankful for:rotfl::rotfl:
Glad to hear that the xmas stuff is well under way, i personally think its better to try be prepared so no last minute rushing about (and extra spends), good on you for getting on top of it0 -

It definitely is :rotfl:0 -
I managed to cash out £6.65 from Prolific today, and was going to pay it off of DT6, but the only option there is to repay it in full (I'll be clicking that button in a max of 5 days, possibly 2!) so I treated myself and paid it into the account where I will be saving for my next car - it now has a total of £8.50 in it, which isn't even 1% of the target, but every little helps :rotfl: :rotfl:
We have the kids this evening, no doubt I will go home and OH will say "What's for dinner tonight?", like it's the hardest thing in the world to look in the fridge/freezer/cupboards and make a decision...
I am going to audit our cupboards and freezer tonight as we are going away for a week next Sunday, so I don't want to be buying loads of food, and most nights it will just be me at home, we have 2 nights with the kids but other than that OH is working all day every day up until Saturday, so we don't need masses of food.
I also have ironing to get done tonight - I was supposed to do it last night, but I got too comfy on the sofa watching The Walking Dead, and trying to tell myself I need to stop holding myself back in life, that was enough effort for one day :rotfl:
I should get my bank card through for an account that I will be using to switch and get the £125 bonus, the sooner that comes through, the sooner it can all get started and finished. It'll probably end up finishing whilst I'm on holiday, and my last wage for the weekend job will also come in whilst I'm on holiday, so will do some sorting out when I get back. It'll be tempting to do it whilst on hol, but I will limit myself to just checking what has finished/been paid and then carry on relaxing.
When we booked it, I said to OH we need to get ourselves to the gym and be beach ready. I have not been once, and there's no point now, it won't make any differenceoh well, I'll be beach ready for the next holiday. 2020 is going to be a totally different year as:
a) I will be debt-free
b) I will buy a new car outright
c) I'd like to think I will have made some serious progress with physio and sorted out my foot injury
So, I'd like to think I'll be more motivated to make the changes such as getting into shape once the other stuff falls into place. I'll make myself get back into the habit of gym/swim when we get back from holiday, but with Christmas and everything coming up, I can see it being much easier come the new year :rotfl:
Messaged my mechanic today, my brakes still don't feel sharp enough considering they have been done (twice) recently. They were done with the MOT in May and re-done (I believe) when they became very squeaky and loud. I gave it a few hundred miles for "bedding in" but they still just don't feel like they should, being new brakes. I have asked if they were all done with the MOT (thus, if it is the rear brakes as he says, they will be under warranty like the fronts were, hopefully) as my receipt just said brakes and pads, I'd like to think for the cost they were all done, but I shall see what he says. If they will be under warranty he can take the car in whenever he likes, if not it can wait until after holiday when the money comes in0 -
Hope you get your car sorted soon. Like you say, you could be up for a very positive new year by sticking with the programme now. I would so love to be so close to CC freedom...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hooray, payday came this morning from the online work, so cleared two more debts, now just left with three CC debts which are as follows:
CC1: £1376.59
CC2: £544.32
CC3: £489.06
= £2409.97 !! :T
My amount available for snowballing just from the paid off debts alone is now £214.50, and I am hoping to pay £125 off of CC3 with the bank reward also, and it has a £25 minimum payment, so that's £364.50 coming off already in the next month, which will only take £125 of my online wages to clear it, then.
I should also then have enough to pay off a few hundred (as a bare minimum) from CC2, and then hopefully get it all paid off mid-December when I've had more hours under my belt in November for the online work :j
It feels so close now!
Oh, and Annual Car Costs pot is now at £218 :money:0
