Gooooood morning!
Well, being more prepared last night certainly paid off this morning, just had to pop my lunch in a bag and go, much less hectic than trying to work out what to make quickly, and much less expensive than giving up deciding what to make and buying lunch insteadthat was a bad habit I slipped back into...
Manual debt payment made, and my snowball payment has also been made, debt about £3.1k now, and will go under 2k when I do my mid-month debt busting, how exciting is that
My productive thing for today has been to pick up some Christmas cards on the 3 for £3 in Asda, they only had a small selection out but I managed to get six that I can tick off of the Christmas card list.
I need to go to Costco later to fill up my car (cheaper petrol FTW) and will pop in and ask about the cost of the glasses in total, so I know how much I definitely need.
Oh - I also managed to do the small amount of washing up of the morning bits before I left for work, too! Little things that will make coming home that bit more relaxing, not coming home and sighing about needing to get cracking with cleaning :rotfl:0 -
Productivity continued:
- Did some research, and decided that a LISA is better for me than a HTB ISA, higher limits on yearly pay ins, higher house price range available etc
- Closed my HTB
- Paid the £130 I had paid off a credit card!!
Bear with me on that last part - I'm not going to get nearly as much work this coming month as I did this month, so will have less to debt-bust with, this leaves me with the ability to still clear one debt the following month, and still have some disposable income.
Also, the remaining debts from this month will be two high-interest, sub-prime credit cards. Thus, it makes more sense to be spending the money paying those down, and be able to save more per month afterwards, than earning pennies in interest in an ISA, whilst paying ££'s of interest on credit cards!
So, all saving is on hold until I am debt-free, bar the annual car savings as I will obviously need those by a certain date next year.
I discovered a hole in one of my back teeth earlierI *think* it is a filling that has come out, it's the tooth I know I had a filling on, I just don't know where she put it on the tooth as it's the very back one at the top, and it was numbed, but she said it was a tricky position, plus I can't think of any reason why I would randomly have a hole out of the blue, and can't see a filling elsewhere on the tooth. So, bracing myself to pay £62.10 on Friday when I go, which I can actually afford, it just means delaying getting some new specs, which is fine, I do have old ones I can (just about) manage with!

Unfortunately not, there aren't many benefits at all in my job, far cry from my last job where you got company sick pay and contribution towards glasses :rotfl:0 -
Hello, October!
Three things I am grateful for today:
- my snuggly blanket that kept me warm last night
- not having caught the lurgy that OH has got
- my insulated water bottle that means I get cold juice all throughout the day
The washing up all got done before I left for work again, so nothing to come home and do. I am going to try and make myself go to the gym this evening, once I start going back it'll become a habit easily again, it's just going back that first time!
I tried to do the one thing that scares me today, I tried to catch a daddy long legs and put it outside :rotfl: I have a phobia of anything creepy crawly/has more than four legs, so I grabbed it by one of its legs to try and put it outside, but I ended up just pulling off its leg as it tried to fly awayoh well, I tried!
I made two day's worth of lunches on Sunday, so I have chicken wraps with me today, and will try and make two days' worth of lunch again tonight, so I'm basically done for the rest of the week, then.
I do need to try and get some more washing done this evening, it's just a pain trying to dry it indoors, it was all so easy when it could go out in the garden to dry!
All DD's should go out by the end of the this week for the usual monthly debt payments, then the usual wait to bust some of them mid-month.
I was proud of myself yesterday, I forgot my coffee flask that I had taken home at the weekend to wash out properly, and didn't pack in my bag yesterday morning. Old me would have gone and picked one up from Asda, but nope, I just didn't have any whilst I was at work, and made sure to put it in my bag this morning0 -
My old car lost oil, but it was burning through it rather than leaking. I had to top up every 1500 miles or so. I go used to it and it didn't seem to affect the emissions for the mot.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Mine might mostly be burning then, I don't see oil on the floor all of the time, just drips now and then. It also passed the MOT with the emissions, so guess it's just old :rotfl:0 -
Helloooo!
Day three of waking up and not having to faff around with making lunch or ironing, and getting the washing up done before I left for work - so far, so good
My 3 things I am grateful for this morning:
- A (temporarily) empty washing bin (did it all last night)
- A nice warm shower when it is 6 degrees outside
- The fact I have still managed to avoid the lurgy OH has
I am usually the queen of running round last minute at Christmas, and yesterday I wrote out FOUR Christmas cards, and will be starting a presents list and buying some wrapping paper (if I can find some) today!
Here's something I'd like to get some opinions on...
I know the online work is going to be slow this month (my mid-November pay), but will be fine next month, which will be mid-December pay. I had planned to use a good mid-November pay to do my Christmas shopping, which won't be as feasible now. So, here is the million dollar question - do I delay paying one of the three debts I was going to mid-month this month (still clearing two) and set aside the money to start getting Christmas gifts? It will pay for most of Christmas, and the end result will still be the same, debt-free by the same date...
Thoughts below :rotfl:0 -
Nothing beats a nice warm shower when its all cold outside haha.
Re the Christmas question, if it isn't going to affect the end goal and would make Christmas easier and less stressful I would go down the route of getting that sorted 1st. Although your mindset as been to pay off debts so might be hard to convince yourself to part with cash whilst you still have your debt targets in mind.0 -

I've given it a lot of though today and decided to go with it, everything should still be paid off by the end of the year, and I'd rather get mostly sorted this month than do my usual of panic ordering/shopping mid/late December, it always ends up more expensive that way
I actually bought some wrapping paper today, and have various bits and pieces in baskets to order when I get paid, keeping a close eye on how much I am spending to make sure I don't go OTT - hopefully the 2 for £15 on Argos will be around until I get paid as that gets some of my cousins sorted relatively cheaply :rotfl:
Going to withdraw £20 later ready to go into next year's pot, which will arrive tomorrow0
