    :D

Three things I am grateful for this morning:
    - Clothes coming off of the warm radiator this morning
    - Asda being about a minute from work so I could pop in for cold & flu supplies before work
    - That I quit my weekend job so I only have to work through today and tomorrow feeling yuck, and can relax at the weekend :rotfl:

I finally caught OH's lurgy after three days of managing to avoid it, so dosed up at work trying to feel less horrid than I do currently.

I've been on and off all night as my throat start to feel all scratchy and swollen last night, and kept waking up needing a drink, so not feeling very rested at all today. Oh well, as above, at least I don't have to soldier on through the weekend, too!

Not a NSD today as I had to buy supplies in Asda, but hoping for one tomorrow.

My new pot comes today, I am going to swap the £20 I withdrew last night for £20 worth of shrapnel that came out of the old pot, so there's less to try and change up, happy to put off that job until we open the new pot next year :rotfl:

It was only a matter of time before you caught the lurgy! haha. Hopefully not too bad and you get over it quite quick though but how good does it now feel knowing there is no weekend job? Hope the weekend gives you some time to rest/recover.

I actually feel a lot better this morning, I'm crediting that to the fact that I've had lots of fish and fruit and veg this week :rotfl: :rotfl: but it does feel very good knowing the weekend is all mine lol

This morning I am grateful for:
    - Feeling much better
    - The fact it is Friday, which means the end of the working week
    - The fact I am seeing my Nan for lunch today after she has been on holiday

I'm going to reschedule the dentist appointment for next week because a) I won't get to catch up with my Nan otherwise and b) because I can't think of anything worse than someone poking around in my mouth whilst I still feel a bit poorly :rotfl:

I went home from work at lunchtime and went back to bed, which I think definitely helped me feel better today :D

Slowly putting things in online baskets ready to be purchased when the online wages come in, today I also need to throw together a shopping list and go out after dinner this evening and do the weekly shop. I normally do it on a Saturday but we have lots of OH's family visiting this weekend and they all want to do stuff on Saturday :)

  • Fell off the wagon with everything at the weekend :rotfl:

Bought wine, didn't exercise, didn't get much online work done, and didn't do my gratitude list (even in my head!). However, we did have family visiting all weekend so it was a busy one.

I did, however, purchase my first Christmas gift (one for my nephew) and another Christmas gift for OH, so ahead of where I usually am at the moment, and all in budget. OH's present is a suit we saw when out at the weekend, I went online to find/order it, and they had 25% off sitewide, so managed to get the full suit cheaper than just the jacket and trousers were in store, and then discovered the website has 5% cashback on airtime rewards, so that'll get me some money off of my phone bill in the future, too :)

Things I am grateful for today:
    - My nan (It's her 70th birthday today)
    - Having time to do all of the washing up this morning so the house is mostly tidy
    - Having recovered fairly quickly from the lurgy

I have also spotted our future Christmas tree over the weekend, so that will go in with the Christmas money and get ordered next week :)
  • Glad you had a lovely weekend.

Happy birthday to your Nan :)

    Have a lovely day xx

Thank you both - by all accounts it seems plenty of us will be there when I pop round after work, so I am sure she will love that.

I am edging towards purchasing some of that vinyl wrap to revamp our drawers in our bedroom. I'm not really fond of our bedroom (or our bathroom) so looking for cheap ways to make improvements on a rented house. I do think our dark brown units look too dark in a bedroom with pale walls and a (horrible) pale carpet, so hoping to be able to do the vinyl wrap in a light grey wooden colour, and also put a grey rug coming out from under the bed so the cheapo carpet is less visible.

In the bathroom, I think I'd be happy if we could get a tall white wooden bathroom unit to go in the corner, rather than the two metal things underneath the sink. As it stands, you can see all of our toiletries and I think they would look neater behind cupboard doors, lol. I would like an under sink unit but they have installed a towel rail (that is only big enough for a hand towel???) too close to the sink to leave enough space around it to have a unit. I shall chat with OH and see what he thinks, he will probably be open to going halves on the unit at some point, but not until his house sale has gone through (was supposed to be today, but looking unlikely unless a miracle has happened. Thanks to a highly unreliable person in the chain by all accounts)

So, they are my little projects for the house, our bedroom does just look very bland and pale, so hoping to tie it together a little more with the above ideas, and make it a little more our own :)

I know how you feel re the cheaper home improvements. We are in a rented property which whilst been a lovely home, I would love to put our own little stamp on it. So currently going through the same process, finding little things that make it ours which seems strange as we have been here a while now, defo getting there though :)
