Not much interest on our property, thoughts please!

Hi everyone,

Could do with some advice. We put our house on the market just under 3 weeks ago, whilst we appreciate this isn’t a long time we thought we would’ve had a lot more interest than we’ve had!

We live in a very sought after village, house prices here are on the increase and the market does seem slow. There is no other property like ours in the village, were a 2 bed with beautiful views and we’ve only had 2 viewings! One was the nosy neighbour, naturally. One was a couple looking to relocate to be closer to their daughter in the village, they loved the property and seemed really keen, they’ve left us great feedback but nothing since! They have got a property on the market though.

We have reserved a new build which is almost ready so we are under pressure to get sold!

Please let me know your thoughts!

I’m a newbie so can’t post the link but if you look on Rightmove, search for Baschurch, Shropshire it’s the 2 Bed semi. Thank you!

House looks nice, but pictures are way too bright, and too much grey. I know grey is de rigueur at the moment but you can have too much of a good thing.

Purple Bricks are notorious for diabolical pics and descriptions.

Finally I haven't looked in the area but if you're getting no interest, it's always price.

Drop the price, every house will sell for a price. otherwise be prepared to wait

Nice enough house but negatives are that it is quite personalised with dark colours. Lots of clutter on kitchen worktops suggest that there is insufficient storage space, Large aquarium and corner unit take over living room. Can these be relocated to family and room for dining table made? Viewers need to be shown that there is room to eat.
Making bookings with Purple Bricks might be off putting for many, could you negociate a price with traditional agent?

you are priced like a 3 bed not far away.

    £160 SSTC

here is what has sold within a mile in the last year

Way way too grey, this would put me off just looking at the pictures.

You say you have a new build to move to? How old is this house and what did you pay for it when you bought it?

It does look very narrow, front garden is shared with next door?

Again the drive it says room for 2 cars but shared with next door the other side?
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

I like your house. I think the kitchen and bathroom are lovely.

Not seeing any dining table though, so wondering where you both eat. Is there room for a small table in the kitchen area at all?

Thanks everyone, we know it’s grey, this is our personal taste and do realise it’s not everyone else’s!
The 3 bed sold for £160,000 is in the next village which has prices a lot lower than our village, there are no facilities in that area, and a lot further from town plus that house that has sold is having 12 houses built behind it hence the low price.
We have changed the description and photos to our own as the ones purple bricks took were awful!
Unfortunately moving the fish tank isn’t an option, we don’t have anywhere else for it to go and it would mean completely emptying it to move as it’s far too heavy!
The front drive is shared with next door, there’s room for 2 cars on each property.
I also agree the garden looks quite narrow on the photos it is wider than it looks!
There are only a few 3 beds in the village, one for £199,950 but smaller than ours, another for £275,000. One has come up in the other village down the road a 3 bed terrace which needs a lot of work doing for £199,950 so I don’t think we are outpriced, however we would accept a lower offer than asking price!
We have been here 18 months, we initially bought a 2 bed as we planned to emigrate and would rent this out (rental market is booming here and 2 beds are in demand hence why we bought this) but have since decided against this and are moving to a 4 bed home to start a family.

We aren’t the first resale on this postcode either, a 3 bed across the road sold in March, it was on for £220,000 but not sure what it sold for in the end. It is a semi, it backs on to other houses but has a garage.

I don’t understand your comment saying we are the same price as other 3 beds getmore4less?
The other 3 beds are apartments, but are £25,000 more so can’t see how they are the same price as ours?
My husbands old garage has been converted to a 2 bed bungalow with no garden and that’s £230,000 so I really don’t believe we’re unrealistic on price, granted they probably won’t sell for a long time.
