NST June 2019 - Ninja powers

Minimise:
-screen time (you’ll sleep better, get more done, be more sociable…)
I've had to work at clearing the kitchen again so I could have a last few workmen in, and I cut down on screentime to do that. Plus I'm just using screentime for when I'm shattered from the garden and I don't want to watch tv, so I'm pleased with that.
-spending
went to look at reduced goods on Sunday afternoon, 25p salad was still really crunchy. And found some posh crumpet rings I'd been looking for to celebrate the new kitchen - cheapest I'd seen was £10, these were £6 from Waitrose. Supermarket delivery yesterday qualified for a £10 voucher, and used a £1 delivery slot.
-wants ( at heart, we are simple folk who don’t need much)
400g bag of frozen watermelon chunks in my delivery :j
Maximise:
-fruit and veg intake (we know the health benefits)
Still almost entirely frozen (see "watermelon chunks"!) but did buy sweet potatoes and tomatoes fresh.
-getting niggly jobs done (then they can stop bugging you)
Tidied paperwork while the tiler was here. Will be doing more of that today.
-health (don’t pay for health issues later in life – be healthy now!)
Hmph! Still not wonderful. My council-run "healthy walk" happens at a very slow pace, and its really aggravated my arthritis. I had a regular checkup thingy yesterday, which was positive in itself but I loathed the practitioner who saw me, so negative too.
-inner ninja superpowers (we all have them. Dust down the cape)
I think I'm losing my superpowers. Texted builder so it didn't look like I was nagging him, and he phoned the tiler here, but hasn't spoken to or texted me. I think I might be a pain to him - maybe he just hates his customers
-pennies (they are powerful. Treasure them)
Managed not to have the heating on - I have two summer duvets on my bed instead! When I put the hot water yesterday, I put my phone alarm on for when to switch it off, which is one of the ways I used to look after the bills. Glad to get back to that.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Fuel bills now under £60 for both. Will keep on going. Can't really cut the gas much more, so will have to have the talk with the kids about turning stuff off when they go to school. Even though they are energy saving bulbs, they save even more energy if they are turned off! Can you tell I am somone's mum?
Had to spend £140 on windscreen wiper mechanism as mine broke on the way home from school. In the rain.
So still on NSD1
The hot water bottles were deployed again last night, and DS3 & 4 are complaining of sore throats and blocked noses that the hayfever medicine is not taking away, and so the house smells of olbas oil (to me olbas smells of cat pee), and I cannot keep track of all the fluffy blankets that are supposed to be on the arms of the sofas, as they have been acquired by small boys who insist on wearing shorts.
The heating stayed off yesterday. Not even for an hour. I was in bed by half eight with a book and a cup of tea and a hot water bottle though, just in case you thought I was some kind of (very short) Amazon.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I gave in and bought concert ticket, when your fav band hasn't toured in 6 years I couldn't resist. Bang goes another NSD
I did put the heating on for hour last night, mainly to dry towels but it was a tad nippy.
Already got leftover tea made prawn linguine yesterday. I got Simply Cook box after voucher for £1. Added interest to my meals. Not sure I will continue though at full price, maybe for the first month as I do need to shake my diet up.
Free to de clutter or deep clean house tonight as I wont be off walking in this.

Hi all no 11 checking in:
Finally a NSD!
All meals from stores. Eaten well - lots of salad and some avo, small amount of veg. Went for a walk at lunch as it finally stopped raining, enjoyed walking by the canal and looking at the narrow boats.
Work too busy to focus on the bad stuff - got an event over the weekend so hoping the rain holds off...
Nice evening catching up on PT role and self employment.
Gratitudes - nice walk by the canal; nice chat with DD2 and managed to calm her down so she didn't panic react to the situation; healthy meals all eaten from stores.
Nite everyone and see you tomorrow

Mornnig,
Sorry, I didn't get the chance to check in yesterday. No spends though, and with none planned for today either, I'm sitting on 8, which I'm pleased with.
Friday will be a spend day at the dentist and petrol, as I travel back to Glasgow (again!). No plans for Saturday, which usually result in a spend and I'm golfing on Sunday, which will cost something, not sure what yet.0 -
Hi all
Not a NSD today as I am off to get my eyes tested so still on 7, hoping to be on 9 by the end of the week!
Minimise-
Waste- hub brought 5 more Easter eggs home last night which were going in the bin at his work, my youngest is currently potty training so the small chocolates in them are currently being given out for successful days!
Screen time- I have started a timer, I shall only be on the internet for an hour a day & once my hour is done that's it.
Maximise-
Exercise & Fruit & Veg in take- working on this! I got up and did 20 mins on my bike this morning, I was aiming for 30 but I slept in!
Time with loved ones- I need to work on turning my mind off, I am constantly tired & i think it is because my mind is always working, last night I left the house work to play with the kids & I read about 6 books to my youngest! I just can't say no :rotfl: I need to work on my negotiating skills!
My aunt died yesterdayvery sad but glad she is no longer in pain.

A small food spend of 3.46 yesterday including two chicken and salad sandwiches, a tub of coleslaw and a small bag of grapes - all 10p each, would have got ys bread but they only had tiger bread.
Spending a lot less time on the laptop most days so can't always get on here.
Struggling with decluttering. Lots of rubbish to go out but nothing dramatic to let go (could send a few knives to the cs, bin a couple of broken cds and a handful of paperclips). Lots i don't 'love' but they are either practical or don't want to bin but very low value items (and then there is 'other people's stuff'). Very frustrating.
Currently tackling the kitchen in 2' by 2' squares.
Today i am grateful for excellent books to read (didn't sleep last night), satsumas and baked potatoes and increasing flexibility. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
