  • Hi all, having lots of LS days but not managing NSDs. Yesterday I only spent on postage as had to post DD2 her glasses! Why on earth she went to uni at easter without them is beyond me....

I ate all meals yesterday from stores, today will be the same apart from buying some broccoli to go with our tea. Also will be paying for a drink later as meeting colleague from another organisation to discuss ongoing FT work stress :( Having said that, I seem to be doing ok at not letting FT job get to me too much...

I went to my exercise class yesterday which was great and I am aching nicely today.

Have been trying to eat well and get lots of sleep as i'm working all weekend at an event. I was in bed asleep at 10.30pm last night.

I am grateful for - relaxing sleep; great exercise class; support from colleague later.

take care all and the rain will stop eventually!

Little shop today so no more NSD for me, some YS but wanted some prawns for a receipe I have. Paid in total £200 of credit cards today.

The big rain hasn't hit us yet. Will try to get a walk in straight after work before it does.

Bit sad doesn't look as if my daughter will be home for xmas. Happy to travel next year to see her, wherever she will be. I am more upbeat than I was yesterday, nice flirting with ex bf whilst out shopping cheered me up. He's still a hottie lol

It's a shame redundancy is rearing it's ugly head again when I am enjoying what I am doing. :( Couldn't sleep in the hotel last night due to very loud snoring coming from the room next door. Hi all

    Minimise:

Bills Looking to get some secondary DG on our old windows to help with heating this place. This will be a long-term project IMHO. To that end:

Clutter: Lots to clear before even survey to do windows could be organised. Cleared some more stuff, this time upstairs. Also got rid of another bag of paper rubbish, I swear it breeds. More sorting upstairs today & more stuff into the garden waste bin. On wards & upwards. Not much clearance today, but did use up some fridge bits & other stuff to make soup for lunch & spag sauce for supper. Cleared out fridge today & ate food we had in/leftovers for both meals. Grey bins out both full of carp. DH says going to tip this week. 10 sacks from cellar taken to dump today by DH , now have a bag of rags to smuggle into 'my' CS tomorrow. Got bag to CS so that's out of the house now.

Spending: Need to budget for groceries. Starting with £300 including pet food. Have receipt ready to file, but about £35/300. Only spending today was on a course for the end of June, which got rid of my NSD. No spending today couldn't book ferry as discount we have requires booking in euros on .ie site & not enough euros in account atm, need to transfer. Transferred euros & booked ferry & t.lodge accommodation. Spent today on food & probably will tomorrow to get a few bits not available today.

Unnecessary spends Proud of myself today, as I saw a handbag I 'wanted' on a FB selling page, & immediately stated my interest. Then had second thoughts, it was nice, I did like it, it was being sold for a reasonable price, I have the money - but I have the same bag in other colours!! And lots of other bags too. Messaged seller to retract, no problem as she had a queue of people interested. DH however unimpressed with my restraint. Spent on course which technically was not necessary but is a cookery course cooking food from my heritage, so should be fun. Just spending on holiday booking for later on. Food shopping & CS spending on books etc. Not strictly necessary but all useful/very cheap. Also bought subs to NT but used Scottish site to save money.

Waste: Ate leftover sandwiches for lunch - 5 days running now, did waste some pineapple that had gone bad. Thank goodness have no more blinking sandwiches left. Some fridge bits (of DDs) into dogs which I don't consider a waste. A bit of waste clearing out fridge but again mainly to pets. Realise need to clear it out more, especially before shopping so I can see what needs using up. No waste today as used up some eggs & a tin of spuds to make a tortilla for lunch, then used up some mince for supper. More tortilla for lunch & eaten up steak in fridge for us all, plus some OOD desserts. More space in fridge, no waste, win-win.

    Maximise:
Dreams (dream big): Would like to fit the DG as mentioned earlier, also need the driveway doing but would be a very large amount of cash as it's so big....Clearing the clutter will help enormously with this, both financially & in the long term. Outside painting needed now, will be a big job & need scaffolding. This again will be £££. Did find a few items for selling, ready for photographs. Added to pile of For Sale Items but bad weather meant I couldn't photograph as yet. No progress but found some other items to sell. Have funds building up in my b/a to pay for next trip. Will be transferring funds into euro account to pay for trips. Will be going away 3 weeks in August. Will pay back once my next payment is in account, should be in a few days. Still really bad weather so no chance to take pics as never bright enough.

    Education

Fruit and veg intake: Definitely need to increase F&V consumption, on this. Fruit with breakfast & some fruit this afternoon. Need more fruit & no veg eaten today. Fruit with breakfast & lots of veg consumed in the form of soup for lunch & incorporated into spag bol sauce. Not brilliant but fruit with breakfast, veg-rich soup & bolognaise with lots of veg. Bit of fruit with breakfast porridge & some veg in dirty rice for supper. fruit for breakfast & some veg with supper, still could do better.

Getting niggly jobs done Painting inside & out, get builder to fit cowl on chimneys, get chimney swept, painting outside as well. No progress as yet. Too busy clearing/cleaning in prep for all the visitors. No progress yet. DH fitted new toilet seat yesterday, thankfully before visitors arrived as the seat was cracked, luckily he got it fitted as initially he said it didn't fit. Bravo HB! (& DH of course). Outside weeding the rockery this morning before the rain struck. Still struggling with little sleep, dogs restless & woke me every hour from 3.30 am..ugh. Does answering emails count as a niggly job - it does to me! Well in that case answered a few. Need to do more, after this post will do the 3 I need to send. Sent 2 emails, one more to go. Done final email & also sent outstanding item.

Health: Lose approx. a stone & a half. Probs no progress. See cake making & eating above. Same old same old. More visitors, another cake. Damn them all. Better diet today but ate a few sugary things due to feeling unwell. Still eating a bit of sweet stuff as head still bad. Hopefully some sleep tonight & better tomorrow. Hmm no comment. Made more cake - in the nature of an experiment as I can only make one sort with any consistency. This one voted a hit but not quite right yet, needs a bit of tweaking. DH very happy though. All cake sent to feed ES night shift workers so not tempted. DH not best pleased as chocolate cake was involved. Weigh in tomorrow morning, not expecting to have lost anything. Well obvs eating cake suits me as lost 1lb this week. Like the cake & sandwich diet!

Meal Planning: Need to meal plan as tend to go with the flow, and it doesn't always work out. Plan for next few days so far. Tomorrow this is happening choose what. Sort of, I do know what's for the next few days. Felt too poorly to clear out fridges though. Supper was just poached eggs on toast, all I could manage to cook today. Always feel this is not a proper meal. Back to meal prep in earnest & managed to make both lunch & supper from stores. Will do a meal plan before shopping on Tuesday. Still doing well from stores but will shop tomorrow for usual stuff. Need to plan now for rest of week, have some ideas.

Moving more - More exercise taken as gardening. Todays exercise was cleaning AND gardening. Only exercise cleaning in the last 2 days. Note to self, do not have visitors round when you have 3 very large hairy dogs (and a cat) and it has been raining. Out in garden this morning, was very warm although that could be to do with me pulling weeds out of one of the many rockeries. More weed pulling but this time not sunny so easier. Short time outside today bit of weeding & more time in greenhouse potting on. Bit of gardening but weather pretty bad later on this afternoon. More weeding of rockery, as this house has actually got rockeries on 2 sides, plus one in the actual garden this could be a recurring theme. All moving was done in CS today, no gardening as too wet.

Time with those you love: Visit of uncle & aunt today, great to see them & did get to discuss a bit of FH with uncle, so a bit useful as well. Visit of BF yesterday, visit of other BF & guest today. Was a hoot - and they gave me a gift card!! And an orchid, how kind. Wish all visitors would pay for their visits LOL. They also said 1. Your hair looks nice (!) and 2. Have you lost weight (absolutely not). They can come again, soon. Time with DH today until I gave up & had a nap for an hour. Then DD came after her shift & after a meal out with her team. Emailed friend in US that I haven't been in touch with for a while. Lunch & supper again with DD & DH today.

    NSD: still 6/15

    Good morning.

Did my meal plan till next Friday and made a shopping list for Lidl rather than going to get Asda delivered on Friday. This time I have the direct price comparison as I had put my Asda order in, so know what it would've cost.

Last night we had left over lamb made into a curry stretched with chickpeas and other veg. DH loved it. And there was enough for his lunch as he's obviously skint again. Only this month we finally had an honest chat about it. Especially since he's about to change jobs, has no cushion, still in his OD and we're about to loose his child care vouchers when he changes jobs. Hope it finally hit home.

    Morning ninjas!
Yesterday was not an nsd as I did my weekly shop. I was also naughty and bought coffee at work (but only one so not too bad)
Today probably won't be an nsd either as I'm catching up with a friend after work. Have done zero exercise this week but will try to get something done Thurs-Fri as I feel rubbish.
Have been reading/listening to podcasts in spanish. That's the only productive thing I've done this week :o
    have a great day

    Good morning all :)

Today is NSD number 7 as I decided to go shopping last night instead of today as I was heading out yesterday anyway. Still within Budget.

    Minimise-
Waste- Hub Came home with 12 Easter Eggs  that were going to be chucked out, I have given some away & stored the rest in the garage, I plan on melting them down for baking & I am going to do some dipped strawberries on Sat with the kids!
Unnecessary spends- I haven't bought anything that I haven't needed to!
    Maximise-
Fruit & Veg in take & exercise- I have been feeling very groggy recently, and so I have stocked up on Fat free snacks and healthy foods & I got up at 6am to do half an hour on my bike, I am hoping my energy levels start to improve, I don't think sitting at a desk, staring at a screen all day helps, but I can't do much about it!
niggly jobs- I cleaned out our medicine cupboard, I am trying to sort one cupboard out a day!

So cold here I had to put the heating on for an hour first thing, thermostat read 13 degrees. Working tomorrow so will be finishing jobs at home today, making curry for tea, walking the dog and hopefully going for a run.
