    Morning all :)
Quick check in, as we are taking GD to the 'gruffalo forest' (a local-ish arboretum to which we have membership) for a picnic and to look for gruffalos :rotfl:
Only cost will be fuel and a couple of treats for the picnic
Washing is out on the line, washing up / sink chaos is tamed and the dishwasher on, and I have cleaned the bath, basin and loo in the main bathroom - we only have one big bathroom and a little shower room, and they forever need cleaning. I really don't envy people in those houses with 5 bathrooms or whatever  but there again they probably have staff to clean them :rotfl:
Now need to make picnic and check that everything we need is in the camper van, including GD's car seat. It isn't possible to go to gruffalo forests just in the car by all accounts :rotfl:

You want to bring her up here, Dawn, I reckon I live with the Gruffalo, lol!

    Morning everyone,
A good productive start so far with my frugal activities:
*Did the ironing before breakfast & only what absolutely needed it. Took a top out of the pile & so saved a tidsy bit of electricity because it didn't look creased enough to bother about.
    *Finished writing shopping list.
*Mixed up a sourdough for baking later.
*Cleaned entire house using some of the stash of cleaning products from clearing Mum's undersink cupboard. Mum was tiny, I don't think she could reach to the back, so a lot of bottles & sprays had built up. I felt bad about binning all that plastic when it was still full of product so am gradually using up, but not the sort of products I will re-buy. Only got downstairs to vacuum & job done.
*Planned a low-spend weekend outing with mr f......as in only fuel expenses.
*Water greenhouse veggies & check the ones I've planted out into the garden.
*Tie in tomatoes - this fell off the list yesterday as was too busy nosing at new fence going up in neighbours garden.
*Knit more of the socks I'm making for my best friend's Christmas goodie bag.
*A round-up of use-it-up fridge items for my lunch today.....& very nice it looks too!
    *Take some cuttings.
*Free fitness sweeping our large back courtyard.
Enjoyed reading what you are up to. Have a good Friday all,

DawnW - the Gruffalo Forest sounds fun!!

Went in to my meeting today - such lovely supportive people. They said all the right things when I said I didn't think I'd got the job. Then one of the guys said 'Ring them, you never know'. So this afternoon - I did!! Turns out they won't be making a decision until the beginning of next week - so there's still hope. I managed to speak to the woman who actually interviewed me, so who knows, it might count in my favour ('seems keen' - can't do any harm).
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...

    Afternoon all,

Ziggy, you're doing so well with losing weight at the minute, I wish I was as determined!
Trailing, sorry that you didn't hear from that job.
    to all
    Todays list
    * dh working from home as his car was in for service/mot - its passed which is always good news! at least we've saved a bit of fuel and about 3hrs in the car for him today
    * I went to the gym - which is unusual in the school holidays but with dh home it meant I could. Also refilled water bottle whilst there too.
    * plumber came on time to look at a problem with our toilet, looks like thats fixed and he's going to quote me for flushing the radiators
    * took ds1 for his hair cut, a lovely little hairdressers close by, 2nd time he's been and he's happy :)
    * called to aldee with a little list and stuck to it as it was really busy
    * called into icyland and bought some oven chips, used rm vouchers to pay for them
    * we had said we'd go out for food tonight as a mini celebration for a good school report for ds1 but when we asked where he'd like to go he said he'd really like an Aldee pizza (79p each) so we bought that and some ice creams and he's really happy - saved us at least £30

Thats about it, dh is ready to go and collect his car so I need to give him a lift and post an rm survey item whilst out. Take care all.

    Evening folks!

DNMS - exciting times for your holiday!
    Trailing - fingers crossed!
    Ziggy - you're doing so well :)

Managed to only buy what I needed at the yarn shop yesterday :A
Although we decided that I might make fil a father's day present. Scarf a bit unseasonal but hey, why not? Turns out that the pattern (crochet cables) does NOT work up quickly so I am on a mission now.

Today we went to the gym then drove up to near-ish seaside town for OH's hair cut. Unleashed my inner foxgloves by taking a packed lunch. Only paid for coffees. To be honest, we are normally happy to have lunch out but we knew that we would be in a rush today as OH is gigging tonight and needed to leave at 5.20pm.

I do confess to some yarn making its way into my life but will take it from my personal spends.

Just going to run round and do a few jobs now as am feeling particularly unsettled. Must reconcile the start of month budgets as have been paid.

    Have a good one all

    very witty BB! :rotfl:

woke up with a sore and muggy head! Hoping that coffee and water will make it go away!

Very pleased with my haircut, it's a feathered/layered style and so simple aside from washing it took about 10 mins :money: I don't spend loads on my hair as having curly hair means I don't need to get it cut so much, probably only every 4 months. It's £20 for a cut and £50 for a cut and colour. I decided I am going back to brunette so have bought a hair dye for £6 and cut myself and saved myself a couple of hours :money:

    Today:

    * someone coming to pick up home gym - £40 for something that was just cluttering our life! :T
    * going to go to the allotment and plant out courgette, squashes & cucumbers :D
    * need to do some potting o. Tomatoes to their final pot :D
    * 1 load of washing on airer and another in machine
    * builder neighbour is going to drill hole in exterior wall so we can put up washing line :T
    * sew on zip and button to 2 x trousers for customer
    * alter skirt made in week
    * walk with pup x 2
    * all meals from stores - another use it up day!
    * find charger for electric car sold
    * do an hour boxing up/clearing madam's room

    Ok that's more than enough!

Everyone sounds very productive! Don't feel like I've achieved much this week other than work and more work :( But I guess that means I haven't spent much either! Did go out to meet friends on Thursday eve and we shared a bottle of wine which cost £6.25 each. Went to Mr T yesterday to stock up especially on cat food, used my vouchers to get 2 boxes for £6, nearly run out of vouchers now. Been doing lots of UGov surveys; going to check SB in a minute. Keep getting rejected from ISay. Today I have chores to do and need to fill in my bit for DD2's student finance. B/L from stores and probably tea too but depends on DD1's requirements.
have a good day everyone Dx
