    afternoon all :)

I think Pigpen must have too much on with the governor stuff, bless her ofsted time can be harsh I remember that from last year.

Rach sorry to hear that one had gone but sure something else will come up soon.

Well I had loads planned, then the boys get up with tummy upsets and temperatures, well DS1 has and DS2 says he has. Still managed to cook off the mince I got out, that's now a slow cooker full (6.5litre one) of chilli and a big stock pot pan of spag bol cooking ready to be potted up and frozen. I think the chilli might hae a bit of a kick to it, put 5 in :o oops. It seemed mild then I stirred it after adding more and it's a BIT WARM. Might look for ideas for cooling off.

Reluctant to bake with them being ill, think will see how they are tomorrow, did want to try to get something made, I've fell off the wagon a bit lately and keep buying instead of making which is bad.

Boys rooms, done the bedding, vacuumed them yesterday DS1s bed clear underneath and DS2s you can't put anything under as it goes to the floor apart from the desk bit which is clear. I did sort the bottom of his wardrobe however, he must pick one thing out and drop 3 on the floor of it every time.

Will add a weekend list in a mo before I shut the conservatory off for the night or it gets brrrr cold!
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Hi lil_me,

I think a few squares of plain chocolate are good for taking the edge of a strong chilli. Sounds odd, but I'm assured by a friend that it works, although I've never done it!

Seems like a waste of chocolate to me! :-)

    HTH

Friday - those frightening Friday kids rooms and spare rooms

    [STRIKE]Level One
Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can see
    Level Two
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
    [/STRIKE]
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade, curtain rails or above the door frame.
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Strip beds and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!![/STRIKE]
Drag all that junk out from under the bed and deal with it as required e.g. bin, put away, wash etc  What??? in just one day??? They can do that themselves tomorrow!
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors Don't seem to be any...I don't need to have my contact lenses in when I check, do I?;)

I really haven't been motivated today... I started off okay, but my sister rang before I finished the washing up, and I was on the phone until 11am, and then had coffee, took DS1 into school, did some photocopying for a meeting on Sunday, drove out to where I was working yesterday to collect my coat that I left over the gate there, and then battled back through the traffic....and spent the rest of the afternoon on here!

I am definitely not looking at any weekend list! I am going to persuade the boys to sort through the three toyboxes on top of their wardrobe, and see if the contents can be sold, and then move the board games and puzzles from my room into theirs...

rumblytum - if you have only just started flying, please don't be discouraged. Take it one day at a time. Do not try and play catch up, as the rooms will come around again. Remember that any little bit you do will add up to a big difference in the end, and that it didn't take just one day for the house to get in this state, so it won't be cleared in a day. Celebrate your successes!!

michelle-the feedback sounds okay. You do seem to be having a lot of observations though. I'm sure that there are union guidelines somewhere on how many times and how often you can be observed - especially as you are not undergoing capability procedures or anything. Is it because the school has been in special measures? Are these now lifted? It does sound as though things are improving! Take it as easy as you can though. You can always be replaced as a teacher, but not for your family.
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be

    Where is pigpen??

    HERE!!!!!!!!

Nice to be missed!!! :D .. makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!!!!!

Well.. OFSTED sorted.. we have (unofficially at the moment) got OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!

    How amazing is that???

We are SO pleased.. it means for once we have a positive report in the local rag and will no doubt shoot up the league table (we were 13th last year I think in this area not nationally)

SATs results are difficult for us as about half the children have english as an additional language.. and some have only been here 8 months before the SATs..but of course none of this is taken into account!

I have pushed a nose WAAAAAY out of joint by 'taking over' the school christmas fair.. I haven't taken over at all really.. I am just more outspoken than the most outspoken one there (I know you can hardly believe that) and I had 'ideas' from you lot!!

Problem is.. we now have 20 ideas for stalls games and activities and only 4 people to run them.. I can't as I have the 5 children 3 of whom have to be supervised constantly!!! Though I am thinking of dressing them as Santa's little helpers and we can supervise the grotto!!! ... actually that is a pretty good idea.. but that would mean I would have 16 days to make 6 elf costumes!!

Anyway.. I've not been in the house all week.

Last night was a meeting of the parent partnership in which I have somehow managed to get roped in to running a workshop next June .. unless it is 23-25th when I will be in Coventry singing :D!! .. *grin* .. It is for the SENCO conference titled.. 'Every Parent Matters'.. so as parents of SEN children we are telling them what works and what we need to make it better!! .. Mouthy here gets dragged up to do the confrontaional and contraversial stuff... it's always me!! lol... and then I went to pub until 1am..

My house is a TIP!!!!! lol

I am just off to tesco for Tiddles birthday party food and cake then I have to come back.. and hubby wants to go out tonight and I am EXHAUSTED so while he goes for a run I'm going to bed for an hour or so..

    Right.. feeding of the fish...

Back later if I can make contact!!!!!! I'm just hoping next week is a little less.. 'busy'.. :D But I HAVE survived!!!!!!

  • Congrats on the great OFSTED.

Are you allowed to post your result though (even though still unofficial) - we were told it must be kept absolutely secret (even on-line!) until we got the actual report.
  • The GOOD NEWS: My entire house is officially spotless and decluttered - even the places no-one sees! (Except the attic room which is    )

The BAD NEWS: I am completely shattered and also OH will be home in an hour to make everything untidy again!
