  • Thanks for the concerns and questions. A normal day for me looks like this:
Breakfast is is either 4 eggs and 2 slices of whole meal, 2 tbl spoon of HP reduced fat brown sauce. OR. Fruit salad, with a cup of tea of course,

Dinner comprises of salads and Meats such as mince beef strained of fat juices or fried beef or chicken pieces, homemade potato wedges, with a homemade coleslaw or a chive and new potato and low fat mayo mixed into a low fat potato salad.

Afternoon tea is basically fruit salad, or a chicken sandwich.

Supper is then salad, sweetcorn chunky homemade chips and meat or a hearty spagbol, or a mayflower beef curry rice and chunky chips.

My Syns are then, depending the days consumption, chilli heatwave dorito 65g bag with a homemade low-fat mayo finely chopped onion, and chive and black pepper dip. I’m not a fan of having syns in my main food but will if I fancy something. I’ve discovered I’m binge eating during the night at the moment so save my syns for the over night binges. But I can also be disciplined and not have any all week and introduce syn the next week to keep my metabolism flowing and on it toes.

My dodgy body really loves to store the fat from cheeses as I’ve discovered so my plan at target is to introduce a balance of healthy extra cheeses with a few more syns in the evenings.

Just popping in to belatedly report a 1lb gain please Chris - (for 24th May) frustrating but fair :o

I've been away for the bank holiday weekend so who knows what this week's WI will look like.

    Today:
    B - Melon
D - Salad - Beetroot and grated carrot (1), cucumber, sweetcorn, wafer thin turkey
T - "Christmas Dinner Curry" - turkey and veg basically! I might not even bother with rice as it looks pretty chunky
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Almonds
Syns - 1 for prepacked beetroot, 4 for sugar in coffee as usual, 2 for hot choc.

    Have a good day everyone!

I posted a list of the syn values for the PON recipes, but think it was on the last thread - the Spring one.

I've written the syns in my book and would be happy to again when I get back home if that would be helpful to anyone.

This is the link where I found the syn values for the PON recipes - I can't vouch for it's accuracy but probably near enough:

    Hello All
Well after 2 weeks stuck with a sts I'm over the moon to have a loss of -2lb this week.
I still have loads to loose but the last couple of weeks had me worried that I'd stalled early. I'm off this week with the kids, but have managed t9 stick to plan so far. We are off to Greenwich park tomorrow if the weather holds, so will take lunch with us, it's pretty hilly up by the conservatory so lots of steps to take.
    Today
B sw oat waffles (hexb) maple syrup 1, berries
L couscous with salad, 2 slice ham
D not sure as the kids usually have oven chips and nuggets on a Wednesday, maybe some rice and mixed veg for me.

    L: prawn and avocado salad

Thanks for that TTD. It's good to know that you're certainly not going hungry. :D

Not sure why you drain the mince, because if you're having 5% then the minimal fat is accounted for.

That's interesting about switching syns on and off to aid metabolism. I've heard people say that if they have a really off plan session then it can shake them up. but if it works for you I'm not knocking it. :)

That's a good idea about the cheese when you get to target. You'll be able to buy a piece of cheese, work out the total syns and then know how many syns that's added to your week. I looked up camembert (one of my favourites) and it's 35 syns for the 250g pack so that's not too bad at all across a week. You'd maybe need some crackers (Finn crisps or melba toasts are low syn as are water biscuits) and then you could pad it out with grapes or pickled onions. Not sure if that's a good idea to be eating that in the middle of the night though!!

Can't be too far off target now?:)

Hi everyone just catching up on some past post over last couple of days.
I am going to get me one of those PON books, so many in group talk about it, did look at site online - but they seem to be both SW and WW which confuses this old bird.

One of you mentioned Target weight, years ago the idea of target weight was daunting, that why SW when I joined this time was great, the leader said I could do target goals and then move on etc, it really kept me motivated, unlike years ago when you joined WW and they told you your goal weight.

Today I lost another 2lb and got slimmer of the month.:T

B chopped apple mixed berries and yog
L 4 slices boiled ham, toms beets and radish br bread
D Tuna steak, asparagus, mushy peas and couple new pots

later may have hi bar or low jelly
HEA and HEB tsp butter 2 syn
