This must be a good time to remind us of the democratic deficit in the EU.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
What you are doing here is ascribing possible reasons why sections of the community have certain attitudes. No problem with that, just remember everyone else is doing that as well. It could be that older people tend to have more conservative attitudes, be more fearful of change and more suspicious of difference......or alternatively perhaps they are people who are genuinely excited about the entrepreneurial opportunities that Brexit will bring and we'll soon have new micro businesses springing up all over the North East and Midlands.
You see I can ascribe any potential reason the same as a survey company can.
How many potential scenarios do you consider though?
But most of this is navel gazing and pontification, typical of academia that has never had to produce anything tangible.
Energy needs to be spent on looking forward and beating the challenges rather than moping over the many potential frailties and problems to try and undermine the democratic decision.
We have already wasted years listening to all sides and all we still seem to get is continual bickering. This needs putting to bed and we need to move on.
Lets get back to managing the country and ensuring we: do not waste £100 billion on HS2, improve the NHS, invest in programmes outside the SE to ensure a fair distribution of capabilities and wealth, focus on educating our youngsters so they can compete on the world stage, empower businesses and give them the opportunity to become world leaders.0 -

IMO a hard brexit on 31/10 died today.
Tory moderates who up to now didn't feel too comfortable bringing the govt. down are already changing their mind + legal challenges waiting in the wings...
'Constitutional crisis' will be the theme for the next few months.
Definitely popcorn time.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
Whatever happens from here what has happened today is that stopping democracy is now a possible solution for future Governments who are struggling to get their way. Boris Johnson and his moronic band of fantasists have torched the democratic process for their own gains. It's utterly disgusting. Taking back control was about parliamentary sovereignty, not giving unabated powers to one person.0

Can’t agree.
Those Tory moderates will probably be cancelled out by the 20 odd Labour MP’s who won’t want to fight the next GE on Corbyn’s dogs breakfast of a Brexit plan.
Well done Boris, he’s chosen the people over the political class in Parliament. Good on him.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Just think of the outrage if I were to tell him I wasn't even white...
You're allowed to not be white in Brexitopia Land, but only if you go out of your way to make yourself three times as English as the average little englander.
That means a wardrobe of tweed, Barbour, and England shirts. Small plastic union jack hats scattered around your house liberally. You must eat pork pies and fish and chips every day. You may visit the foreign foods section of the supermarket, but only once a month. Also, this has been renamed "Foreign Muck" and is also empty because it's impossible to import them.
If you are ever asked about the history of your country your knowledge mustn't under any circumstances, be seen to exceed these three great truths.
1) The British Empire educated the world and the English are secretly loved for it
2) No one has any clue why the Irish are upset, even them
3) Britain won the war, and all the other wars0 -

Oh Dear.
The sort of leftist identity politics that will consign Corbyn’s Labour to the electoral dustbin on display here.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
