It's completely undemocratic to be asking for an election, we voted in 2017. Why should we have another one? Did we get it wrong last time?

Appears so. Hopefully some of the manifestos will be a lot clearer this time as to what the parties intend to do.

I voted in 2017 and I expect that vote to last until 2022. Parliament HAVE to listen to the will of the people and stay until then.
Now you clearly acknowledge why there should be an election, that being because parliament are very clearly not listening to the will of the people.

The fracturing in the Labour party shows that many believe the core values of our democracy are now being undermined due to one individuals course of action.

A lot of people voted in full confidence that the delivery of Brexit as notified by submission of A50 would be delivered by Parliament.

Clearly if those elected representatives cannot deliver on their commitment then they should be brought to task.

We trusted them, MPs from both parties, and they have let us all down, so yes we did get it wrong.

Unless anything radical changes I would expect this deal to pass either today (or if the Letwin amendment passes) next week.

Part of me really wants you to get what you wish for, all these stupid Brexiteers hoping to bring everyone down to their level, everyone to reach their level of low aspiration, no hard work and a continual blaming the world for their failures. Yep, lets all hit rock bottom, halve the UK's wealth in the hope you will do better 2nd time around, which I wouldn't give odds at 100/1.

99% of intelligence, logic and decency is on the Remain side, of course we should reverse the decision however we can. Would we let 100 people collapse in misery because 1000 dim witted sheep voted for it. At the end of the day it was as good as a 50 50 voted with a slight tolerance, today a Remain vote would sweep it.

With statements like that it's highly questionable. Does nothing for healing the ever widening rifts in this country.

I don't think people who identify with Remain have much interest in reconciling with Leavers. Considering the core motivation for most Leave voters that most Remain voters have met, is small minded nationalism, xenophobic prejudice, or just good old fashioned racism; there doesn't appear to be common ground.

What makes you think that is possible?

People keep saying we need to get brexit done to heal the divide, but it will only widen it.

Remain lost because we didn't really have a cause, now we do. Our numbers will swell over the next 40 years & protests will continue. All leave could come up with after 40 years of trying was a measly less than 2%

And that show the absolute demeaning of the democratic process that we are faced with.

What gives you the moral high ground, or status, to comment upon the split of the intelligence in the nation? Add to that it is not even a point of consideration.

The UK population are given the right of voting, other nations do not have that! Voters are not vetted before being granted that right, so we cannot come and comment that one person's vote is any less important than the next. To do so would be undemocratic.

The fact that some feel that there may be a cliff edge into doom and despondency is only an opinion. An opinion that was not shared by those who voted to leave. And their vote must count lest we are not democratic.

You can try and dress it up in however many distasteful ways as you may wish and try to undermine the: personal qualities, levels of intelligence, motivation or other attributes of those that voted to leave and when you do you only show your prejudices and lack of belief in democracy.

Equally, all those politicians that feel that they know better than the electorate and decide that they do not wish to deliver what they previously agreed to, A50, may find that their tenure is shorter than they expected.
