    Morning Campers,
I really need to get back to my routines after Easter & my birthday weekend, so that's what today & tomorrow will be all about.
    So far, I've:
*Done two loads of laundry (1 x cheap tariff overnighter & 1 x 30 mins at 30 degrees). All pegged outside to dry for free. Washer reloaded for another Economy 7 load tonight.
*Altered meal plans to reflect the fact that I can't defrost a load of lamb mince, make it into lots of lamb burgers & re-freeze them raw.....what a rookie error....not like me at all....too much birthday gin & chocolate affecting brain cells......so lamb burgers tomorrow & will turn rest of the mince (yellow stickered, yay!) into a shepherd's pie base & freeze that instead.
*Tidied up. Tidied up some more. And then some.
*Changed all cat bedding. Will go on a cheap wash cycle at some point this week when I can defo line-dry it.
*Use-it-up mascara, lippie & foundation - still using very last of a lippy with a brush to get it out, mascara tube still yielding lots of product by popping the tube in a mug of hot water for a couple of minutes to soften it up. Foundation tube cut open to reveal tons left inside which was absolutely impossible to squeeze out due to design of container.
*Several kettles of boiling water being poured over weeds in front drive to kill them without chemicals. Ongoing.
    Still to do:
    *Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
    *FIling & admin.
*Update budgets & do my Monday morning banking.
*2 x 50ps to pay into my sealed pot. Where are all the 50ps this year? Hardly seem to have had any.
    *Water greenhouse veggies.
*Fold & add birthday paper to my recycled wrappings stash, also two nice gift bags.
*Tidy front border & plant out a few plant freebies. Take out two ceramic containers I planted up (for free) to add a bit of colour.
*Write daily job lists for the rest of the week.
I know there will be more, but I need to crack on with it, instead of talking about it, so I shall sign out & see what I can achieve over the next hour.
Wishing everyone a productive start to the week,
    F xx

    I can't quite imagine this?!

I may not have explained this fully in hindsight :rotfl: I used the water that was left in my kettle after my morning cuppa that I then turned in to mousse. It goes like this.... make sf jelly by adding half pint boiling water to a jug with jelly in. I add frozen raspberries at this point but it's not essential. When cool but still all liquid, add Greek yogurt (I guess any would work) and whisk. Then set in fridge. Voila. Mousse. :T

My mum used to do this when I was little (but without the Greek yogurt - I don't think we had Greek yogurt in those days...). Make jelly and when it's almost-but-not-quite set, she would pour in a small tin of evaporated milk. I would then get to whisk it with a hand whisk - it was one of the first 'cooking' things I remember doing!
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...
  • Ah, my mum would have called this milk jelly!

I thought you were going to make a coffee mousse with the dregs or something!

I have one very big pupil still so just updating my list then logging off to sit in the dimness of the house (our house is old and dark). Have a good evening all :)

    Hey :hello:
Thanks for the starter this week DNMS.
CLF - pleased to hear that all is ok with your eye. Hope that you're feeling better soon...
Quiet, nsd for me today. I've been in a bit of a grump to be honest. I slept funny and have a stiff neck and shoulders, which isn't painful but is uncomfortable and has made me a bit grouchy. Full teaching day at work, plus homework club tonight so I've literally barely stopped between the hours of 9 and 4.
Plus I got a phone call from my ex husband's work asking if I'd heard anything from him at all. He hadn't gone into work, or phoned in and wasn't answering his phone. Things have gotten very sour between us - we're 3 weeks away from going to court, so I obviously have no clue where he is or what he's doing or who he's with or anything. Anyway, I decided to report it to the police - no news so far but they have promised to keep me updated. Decided not to mention it to the kids either - no point in worrying them unnecessarily. This time last year I would have been in a mad panic and hysterical worried about him - but I'm just not. I do hope he's ok and getting the help he needs, but it's really not my problem (I know that sounds horrible). We shall see what happens next.
