    - Get something done about the recalcitrant car – progress stalling..

    Tasks from yesterday:

    - bike to work - done
    - all meals and snacks from stores - done
    - another load of laundry – done
    - write thank you cards - done
    - call garage re aforementioned car AGAIN – not done, had a serious cba moment
    - sort out dog for next week – not done

    Tasks for today:
    - bike to work – in progress
    - all meals and snacks from stores – I really would quite like fish and chips today so this could be a toughie
    - another load of laundry, delicates today I think – in progress

    - call garage re aforementioned car AGAIN
    - sort out dog for next week – in progress

sorry to hear you're feeling down - could some it be the ongoing car saga? Is there any chance that you can just get shot of it?

Thanks CLF - ongoing car saga is definitely part of it, I have pretty much decided to get rid of it but want the quote for fixing it so I know how far is reasonable to drop the price if it misbehaves when I'm attempting to trade it in :rotfl:

Garage promised me the quote on Friday and keep prevaricating. I feel like such an idiot - I should never have trusted them in the first place!

Perhaps someone like we buy any car would take it? At least then you wouldn't feel bad about selling it to someone. Garages are poop though :(

It's certainly an option! It would only go to a private buyer if they are an enthusiast and fully informed about the issue.

    Evening all :)
Nice to see new posters / returners
Hugs to those who feel down / rubbish :(
Just back from a couple of days away in our ancient camper van, which behaved impeccably :rotfl:Went to the beautiful New Forest. Spent on camp site fees, a bit of fuel (it isn't actually that far away from us) and fish and chips on the beach one evening. Took most of our food with us to keep costs down. Just as well as three large and boring spends due this week:
    1. Plumber to do something to boiler, supposed to be this afternoon, so we made sure to get back on time - however, he cancelled this afternoon due to another job over running, and will rebook next week, no worries, the boiler works ok, just that the hot water flow is really slow for some reason.
    2. Dentist tomorrow, I have a chipped / broken tooth and I am sure that will be expensive
3 Service and MOT due on our car on Friday - not expecting anything mega, but the service will be a lot (has to be done via main dealer due to warranty)

No wonder I didn't want to come back! :rotfl:
Anyway, I have checked the banks, checked the few receipts accumulated while we were away, and noted spends down in my spending diary
Got most of the stuff that needs to come out, out of the camper van. Most of it can stay in there till next time :)
    Watered my plants :)
Was pleased to see I have self seeded wild rocket and land cress coming up :T I really love the idea of permaculture / forest gardening, which is a challenge with a garden the size of a postage stamp, but I am working on it :rotfl:
Cut a colander full of salad leaves and chives
    Done a load of washing
Made pasta with HM tomato sauce from the freezer (and salad) for dinner
    Back to it properly tomorrow!

Ex OH's daughter and family are coming to stay over the weekend, which is fab if a bit surreal. We get on really well, I've been very involved with her daughter from when she was a baby, and she doesn't have the best of relationships with her own mother, so it works well for both of us. Turns out you can choose your relatives!!
Was volunteering this morning and took a flask of soup with me as I knew it would run over into lunchtime. Rubber chicken day 4 - on day 3 I use the bones to make stock, then use the stock to make soup. On day 3 I have chunky soup with chunky bread as a main meal, and on day 4 I blitz the same soup and have it in a mug for lunch (or out of a flask today!). It's amazing how blitzing the soup turns it into something completely different, you really don't feel like you're having the same meal twice!!
Night out tonight - there's a little art gallery just down the road, and it's just changed hands, so they were having an open evening. A very pleasant hour spent looking at art work that I can't afford!! Glass of wine provided, and I bumped into 4 people that I haven't seen for ages, so all good.
No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...
