Hi May Money-Marvelousos,
I've just finished a 3.5 week away 'mission' at work. I've one day off to recover before 4 days on back at my usual workplace nearer to home. :dance:
So tired. :undecided
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four (Nearly Five!):
* Check online banking. Done.
* Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 177/500. Will walk. It's exactly two years since I tore the ligaments in my ankle mountaineering. I'm grateful to be 90% recovered but frustrated by the remaining 10% that hasn't healed. Done.
* Defrost batch cooked soup. Done.
* Clear out In Tray. Done.
* Clear out wallet. Done.
* Clear emails. Done.
* Check if expenses have been approved.
* Talk to DW about holiday. It's in a month and we've paid for it but made few other arrangements yet.

Hi all. I have been a long time lurker on here occasionally dipping in and out but have decided to put on my big girl pants and join you all if you'll have me?! Here is my list for the day:
* Check freezer and pantry and meal plan until Sunday
* Write shopping list
* Stick to said shopping list!
* Do NOT buy lunch out - there is plenty of food in the house
* Put at least one thing on Ebay
* Matched betting
* Dinner at my parents
* Nice walk with the dog tonight
* Set up new spending diary for May
* Check bank
* Update spending diary
* 10,000 steps (at least!)
* Buy Dad's birthday presents (Same stress I have every year when he tells me the only thing he needs is socks!)
* Write letter to debt agency (They have offered me a reduced settlement figure - I'm going to be cheeky and ask them to reduce it further)
* Set up standing order to debt agency as I've just realised I haven't paid them anything for months
* Clean fridge
* The PAD thread looks good so I'll make a payment today and join in on that
I'm working nightshift tonight and need to squeeze a nap in this afternoon so I best get a move on!MAY

Would you consider knitting socks? We have several sock knitters on this thread. It's not as hard as you might thinkLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.31Student loan repaid: 01/07/2019SAVINGS: £20,000Car final lump sum: £6113/£61130 -

Does anyone want to use Chip, where it moves money automatically from your account into savings? If I pass a code on we both get 1% interest.

Hi All,
I am going to jump in with Overspending Angel and join this lovely thread today if I may? Something about the ‘no saving is too small’ mindset really appeals to me. I had years of managing on just about no money at all when I was younger and the habit of watching and stretching every penny became ingrained. I love making those tiny savings wherever possible, but I live with someone who definitely doesn’t think like that, has never had to scrape around for money, and is (to me and how I’m used to managing) very wasteful. So that is one of my biggest challenges but I’m determined to not let it affect any small savings I can make, even if they end up being offset / wiped out by the OH!
Today:
Very lucky to have a free gym at work with a locker and shower room, so my workout today won’t cost me anything, plus saved the hot water cost of not showering at home (also of course no additional travel cost to get to the gym as it is in the same building)
Drove to work today but I can combine this with a stop at the supermarket on the drive back as my route goes right past it (yes will involve spending on a mid-week food shop but at least no additional fuel cost to get me there)
I am in a tea fund at work, only £4 per month, this covers all hot drinks while at work and saves me a fortune every month as I drink A LOT of tea
For the last 6 months or so I have stopped having any breakfast on work days and only have fruit for lunch (this I take with me), so minimal spend on food while I’m here, we are talking two apples and two bananas, must be net cost of about £1 or less
Bottle filled from water filter at work (free H2O and it tastes better than tap water)
Sure there are some other regular savings I always try to make, but am not used to writing them down.0 -
Morning all (just)
A few bits and bobs today.- Breakfast and lunch from stores
- PAD to Barclaycard - main payment due tomorrow but better to spread payments
- Check bank and update spreadsheet
- need to go to Mr T's for a couple of bits for tea - hubby is on a massive health kick so eating lots of fresh goodies
- keep step count up
- finish craft items to give to my manager
Sure there's more but it escapes me right now
