Hi, I'd love to join this month. Suddenly feeling a lot more positive & this will definitely help me along. Can anyone recommend threads or blogs to help me reduce my grocery spend? Just looked at YNAB and I'm spending well over £400 per month - for 2 of us!!! Never going to own a house at this rate...0

Head over to the oldschool board, there used to be a feed your family (of 4) for £20 a week, page. Although it is really hardcore, there are some really good ideas on there, that even if you only took one or two meal ideas, would drop your weekly spending massively.
That and make a list of what you already have in your cupboards that you could use as a base for other recipes. £100 a week might mean you have a pretty decent amount of store cupboard ingredients already, waiting for you to notice them.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

As f0xh0les said, head on over to Oldstyle Board - lots of useful stuff on there
A 'sticky' thread on the board is the monthly Grocery Challenge - May's is just about to start: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5992017/may-2019-grocery-challenge - lots of tips and recipes in there A new challenge thread runs every month, like this one
Others:
* eat for 50p/ day (thread only started this month) https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5988026/eat-for-50p-a-day
* cheap meal ideas: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5994156/cheap-meal-ideas (again, a new thread)

Make a budget and stick to it. – Have made a budget.
Enjoy the month. – Have somethings planned but also going to make sure that I have some me time for self care.
Read. – This is what I need to do more. Make more use of my time instead of wasting it.
Reduce, reduce and reduce some more. - Reducing screen time and wasting my time are somethings I need to try and work on.
Increase, increase and increase even more. - Increase walking. Increase being outdoors. Increase appreciating what you have. Increase the discovery of joy in your life. These are what I am planning to work on this month.
Move it! – Going to try and do more walking.
Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day. Let’s make May a month of being grateful for all that we have. Post 3 gratitudes every day. – Will do.
No! to wants, to treats, to coffee shops, to the work canteen, to vending machines, to takeaway establishments. You get the picture! Plan ahead, take food and drinks out with you to avoid the temptation of a ‘deal’. Especially with the half term break and little people wanting things. – Will do.
Think of others.Be kind. Smile. Talk to a neighbour. Donate to charity or the foodbank. http://www.trusselltrust.org/ - Will be planning to do something.
16 NSD – am hoping to do 20 NSD this month.
No debt, but have direct debits set up for savings.
Plan the month: every single day: what you are doing, what you are eating, especially with the Bank Holidays and half term, birthdays, anniversaries.
Check in every day. Short posts, long posts, ups and downs. Turtles are gregarious and friendly, they look after each other and encourage each other out of their shells. – Will do my best.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130
