Ew! Nasty downpour forecast all day.
Did my 'nice thing' already and gave DH a lift to his meeting so he did not have to sit in damp trousers all morning. I had already got damp on the playground.
Cupboard inventory and meal plan written. I have a 5 item shopping list to allow for 10 main meals and 3 puddings. Next week should be super frugal!!
Loving writing my lists. Loving scrubbing things off the list even more!
Motivation is waning today, rainy days are for sitting on the sofa with a hot cup of tea and a book.
Soy yoghurt - there are lots of good recipes online now, the slow cooker method actually looks the easiest. I am going to source a slow cooker and give it a whirl.

Fridge and large wooden chair have been collected and added another bag full of embroidery fabric/ small completed pieces to go with the ones I donated on Friday (saved me a trip).
Scrubbing the sink and cleaning a jam spill and lots of egg and milk bits off the fridge have done me in (used most of a pack of spongey scrubber things although started with the 5 that were hanging about the sink first, most of a rag bag for drying things (will put those through the washer), got my nightie soaked all down the front so took it off and threw it into the kitchen puddle as i exited the kitchen (dragging the fridge).
'Ran' upstairs, pulled a dress out and was on the couch with book, puzzle book and laptop, drinks and alarm clock (had it in the kitchen to keep an eye on the time) by 5 minutes past 10 am. One of the joys of living in the town centre is that computerised delivery routes mean you are usually first or last on the list. Had just finished the book (Private LA by James Patterson) and started on the puzzles when they arrived. Very kind and grateful men.
Want a shower but think I should tackle another messy job first (and keep telling myself my shoulder is still too painful and should have a few more minutes downtime. Will be brave soon (or later?). Need to go down soon to sort out food so will do something then - may risk a few trips up and down the yard if it's not actually raining. Cold wet and miserable here. Quite a lot of sweeping to be done if I can only do light work (although some is under couches and trapped behind and between things so not that light).
Today I am grateful for cs that are glad of my poor offerings, for not letting the weather dampen my spirits, for not having any appointments next week.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Awful weather here today for DS 9th birthday. I am working from home and dressed for a run but I'm not going out in this! Such a contrast to this time last year when we had a BBQ in the garden for DS birthday and even had the paddling pool out!
Make a budget and stick to it I have been crunching the numbers for the new budget and will be tight but do-able. This months budget still OK.
Enjoy the month Lovely walk with DH and the dog on Monday evening. Nothing else planned as working away rest of the week.
ReadNot quite finished my book yet but will complete today and start a new one to take away with me
Reduce, reduce and reduce some more
Processed Food and Booze - No booze, ate far too much carp this weekend and crisps have now been banned. We can't be trusted with them
Weight - only lost .4lb, not surprising really. 3.6lb in 2 weeksDH has lost half a stone
Food Waste and Plastic - little food waste but more frequent visits to the shop for fresh stuff like salad and spinach
Increase, increase and increase even more
Water - not much over the last couple of days, will take 2 water bottles on my long journey tomorrow
Family Time Spent Outside - nothing planned before the weekend
Clean Eating Meal Planning - no further work done on this but have invested in a thermos food flask to use when away
Move it!
Walking - It is likely DH and I are going to pull out of the planned long walk, DMIL been funny about minding DS and we have not trained enough. Will lose the guide fee but won't have to pay for fuel, accommodation and meals
Running - I'm a run behind my plan! I was too tired after driving for 7 hours yesterday and the weather is horrific today. I'm staying at a hotel with a gym tomorrow night so may take my stuff and run tomorrow, swim Friday early morning and then run Saturday and Sunday to catch up
Dog Walk - Will take him out later when rain eases off
Yoga/stretch - no progress on finding a class or starting to practice at home
Post 3 gratitudes every day -
1. DS loving his surprise presents and cake, he hadn't asked for anything
2. The generosity of family and friends who all remembered DS birthday
3. Having a batch of something on plan in the freezer for DH lunch today as I forgot to make it last night as dinner was a batch cook from freezer too and it went out of my head
No! Nothing spent in these establishments
Think of others - Have books to donate to library and will check dates on some unopened jars and tins in cupboard for items I no longer want to eat and will donate if suitable

Wild, wet, windy and cold here so I haven't ventured outside.
Himself is definitely feeling better but still not "right". Hopefully we might be able to get out tomorrow weather permitting.
He decided he would like chilli for dinner. Defrosting one that was in the freezer together with some rice. Am I the only person who can't calculate the amount of rice to cook and then ends up having to freeze tons of it? Anyway some spaces beginning to appear in the freezer now.
Started the shopping list for the holiday. I'm trying to cut down on the cost of food whilst we're there but still wanting to eat well and enjoy it.
About a third of he way through my new book. Hope to read another good bit tonight whilst Himself is watching the football.
Today I've been really quite lazy but I'm grateful for Himself feeling better and us having a nice day in together.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Went for a run in the rain this afternoon, the thought of it was worse than the reality but it was still unpleasant. Have spent £2.80 on postage for passport bits but no other money spent.
Thrilled with DD tonight when she poured scalding tea all over my mobile phone, luckily it is ok.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

NSD today - 7/20.
Grateful for:
Was dry when walking through park to station.
Got home just in time before a big down pour.
For tea and treats at the follow up of the grief programme.
Sorted out somethings that can be put out into the communal recycling bin. (still needs to be put out. At least I will be decluttering a couple of things). Have now put out the recycling into the communal recycling bin as it has stopped raining. Also have deleted some documents etc off my computer.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Today I am grateful for a lovely day at work, for dd having a good day too, for the rain watering the garden, for books to read and armchairs to read them in, for getting more paperwork done, for Pro Bull Riding - sooo texan but we're getting to recognise the names now. I mean, Chase Outlaw can't be anything other than a cowboy, can he...?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

NSD today - lousy weather meant I wasn't doing more than necessary, although I did go and visit my nan at her care home and ironed on name labels to her clothes (they keep going 'walkabout') and stuck super sticky name labels to various things in her room. She wasn't too bad today - lots of reminiscing about when she was younger and then lots of crazy stuff too - but all harmless
