Made an overpayment of £943 so mortgage is now £14,600. Been messing around with spreadsheets and calculations. I would like to get this under £10k by October and maybe use my savings around April/May 27 to pay it all off. Although best laid plans and all that; had to buy a new TV on Sunday as the screen finally went. I would have been happy not to bother but my son needs one for playing his XBox on. Only paid £137 so not the end of the world. Pay day on Friday at long last but March is looking expensive already 🙁

Thanks everyone. I did some extra work over Christmas that has been paid so the whole lot and some extra got added to the mortgage. Unfortunately the day didn't end too well as I got a call from the school telling me my son had been the victim of some bullying and I sincerely hope when they decide who did it they get suspended. The SENCO rang me before half term to say that a group of year 8 boys seemed to have a campaign going against the kids with statements but that they were aware of it and were dealing with it. Before the holiday one of these kids said my son had used a racist word (which he hadn't) but they were trying to get him into trouble as its an automatic exclusion. He had been very upset at the accusation and it had affected his behaviour in school. Today's incident against him is just totally disgusting. He had PE last lesson, went into the changing rooms at the end and got a drink from his water bottle, took a mouthful (swallowed it) spat the rest out when he realised someone had actually peed into his bottle! He gave it to the teacher who poured it out and confirmed someone had peed into his water. Luckily he hasn't been sick but I'll keep an eye on his kidney function. I'm hoping/expecting a call from the school tomorrow otherwise I'll be ringing them on Wednesday. Obviously he's really upset and doesn't understand why someone would want to do that to him; neither do I, some kids are just awful 😢

Jeez. That’s awful. At that age they should know better. Hope your son is ok.

  • That's just awful 😖 for you and your son.

I hope the school response sends a clear message that bullying is unacceptable.
