Bless him! Do you have a crate for him? I know they can be controversial but we have them and ours love them. They go in a corner with a blanket over the top and a bed with blankets inside and they see them as nice cosy safe dens (they dont get locked in). I don't know if that might help him? They don't even have to be harsh metal ones, we have canvas ones like this from amazon

Thank Jessy, I’ll look into one of those if my latest calming dog stuff doesn’t work.  Just finished a 3 hour meeting with an adoption support social worker and I’m exhausted.  She was hedging her bets a bit.  They have to be convinced my son’s current issues are a direct result of him being adopted in order to access money from the adoption support fund.  The first person I spoke to mentioned adoption trauma and this lady talked about attachment anxiety.  Anyway she’s gone off with lots of my original adoption reports from 12 years ago and is coming back next week to meet Alex.  Even though he’s only 12 they seem keen on him knowing the full details of his background which I have said he’s not emotionally stable enough to deal with at the moment.  It’s my decision until he’s 18 but he needs therapy now to cope with life.  Our situation appears to be very common which does make me feel slightly less of a failure!  Anyway I’ve been left with all sorts of information regarding various support groups which I’ll consider.  If money is forthcoming from the fund then my mortgage overpayment plan will be secure, if not back to paying for expensive therapy ☹️. Looks to have gone above 0C outside so might go for a run to clear my head before he gets back from school.

Also really hope you get the support you need.
You should not have to pay for it. It makes me angry that there is so little support for people who adopt and social services should do so much better in situations like yours which sadly are not uncommon.

Just made an overpayment of £110.  Its mortgage day on Monday, my payment has reduced due to interest rate change so I’ll see what it’s done to the interest payment.  Unfortunately if January wasn’t financially tight enough we will be taking my son’s bike to be fixed AGAIN tomorrow; he obviously thinks I have a money tree.  Next week I also have 4 meetings booked about my son and his problems; all talk and reports but no action.  Thankfully he is at last starting to see someone on Monday to help him with his anger issues, only taken 4 months and I’ve arranged it myself.  I sent his Educational Psychologist report from 2.5 years ago when they assessed him for his educational statement to this new social worker.  Exactly same issues detailed then as they are saying he’s suffering from now.  I can see myself straight talking in these meetings next week as they are not experiencing the daily fallout of their inactions

Bike fixed;  £20.  TV now going 🤦‍♀️. It’s developed a  4-5cm section across the bottom of the screen where the pixels seem to have gone.  Obviously my son is demanding we get a new tv, I’m saying it’s not necessary as you can still watch it.  Battle ongoing which obviously I will win as I control the money 🤣

I suppose he won't accept the argument that TV's used to be black and white and you could count all the channels on one hand 😅?
