  • That was a really kind thing to do DIA I'm sure your young relative was incredibly grateful. I agree that hopefully karma will repay you one day :).

What fantastic bargains for the reduced fruit and veg.

With the project work would it be worth setting a timer for 30 minutes to force yourself to begin? I always think that beginning is the hardest part. Didn't you find that you were working most effectively in a coffee shop before? You could maybe try that again.

  • Sorry the house is getting you down.

I would get up in the morning, walk to a coffee shop and get some project work done, then tackle house stuff in the afternoon. That way the walk in the fresh air and achieving some project work will help your mood so you can face the house stuff.

  • Sorry to hear that the house things are getting a bit on top of you , DIA. Hopefully you get the right people to do the jobs needed.
One thing to keep in mind tho , is that this is all part of the excessive hassle for when you eventually move. A horrible situation now , but once the jobs are done you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Best go for a coffee and cake , relax and do things when you're ready .

    Things will improve .

    Hope you feel better today

Stick with it and you will get there, you are very resourceful. As for your kindness, you may never know what a difference you have made to that young person's life by believing in her. I definitely believe in karma, we just don't know when or how it will happen.

Adzuki bean burgers sound lovely would you be kind enough to share the recipe?
    Bless you x

Sorry to hear you are feeling overwhelmed. It seems to be quite difficult to find decent tradespeople these days. The good ones are all so busy and often don't want the smaller jobs. I hope you get it sorted.

Really good idea. I have to wait in for a parcel in the mornings and don't want to miss the postman but as soon as it comes I will be taking your advice and dividing my day into project work in the mornings and other stuff in the afternoon. Thanks HHOD :)

    Thanks you Dotties1:)
    Here is the recipe...
    Adzuki bean burgers
I cook lots from scratch so I experimented with a tasty burger that had one cook stage. I like Jack Monroes carrot bean burger but there are too many stages. However you will need to grate all veg as they are not being precooked. So far adding squash and finely diced coriander works best. I have tried Indian spicing and Italian. All good. The best was using Caribbean seasoning.

I don’t weigh or measure so these are rough estimates:

    Ingredients
Equal amounts of adzuki beans and pumpkin.
    Fresh red onion and garlic
Caribbean seasoning (I used one by Levi Roots as it was half price in Mr. S.)
    Lots of chopped fresh coriander
Chickpea or buckwheat flour (a few tablespoons: both are sticky and will help bind the ingredients)
    Flax (a few tablespoons)
Almond meal (optional; a few tablespoons)

    Method
Boil beans until soft enough to crush easily with a fork.
Add grated veggies to drained beans and mash.
    Add seasoning and chopped herbs.
    Add dry ingredients
Dry toast seasoning then add in.

Mash everything together then form balls with hands and mould into burgers.

Leave in fridge as long as possible and then fry

Sorry for the rubbish recipe as I tend to wing it so its hard to break it down and write a recipe.

I hope your burgers turn out as nice as mine. :)

Thanks AC :) I went to see a film instead of coffee and cake. Anyway I stepped back today and feel better for it :)

  • I got up and started on the garden. :T It was sunny and dry so that helped. A good few hours and the garden waste bin is almost full ready for collection tomorrow. Rain is forecast for tomorrow or I would tackle it again. It worked in elevating my mood. It is nice that the front of my home is not full of bins and weeds and blown in rubbish. I’ve been putting off tackling this for weeks, so at least that frog is swallowed :T

This afternoon I saw Mrs Lowry and Son. Such a beautifully acted, lovely film. Exactly the right film to take my mind off things. Total bargain for £3 and that included a Costa cup of tea.

Wishing you all a relaxing evening :)

  • Mess again. :o No one to blame except myself…Hmmm…

Tomorrow my frog will be to clean my house. It is supposed to rain so I will stay in and clean. Even the floors will be cleaned. I will do it! I will! I feel better in a clean house so not sure why I allow it to get this bad?

I walked when I woke up and then again in the afternoon. A total of 1 hour’s walking :T

I got thoroughly bored of adzuki beans and went to the shops for cashew milk. I also bought some raw nuts and a boxed YS sirloin on the bone that was £15 reduced to £7, it will be frozen for the C season. Also YS lamb shoulder reduced from £12 to £6. I will cook that tomorrow with the 38p root veggies I got earlier in the week and some wine in the freezer. Should be nice ;)

Removed a mirror with a shelf that sticks out too far. Dismantled, out of the house and the glass will be used in the garden. That had been getting on my nerves and I have banged my head on it continually for 2 years. Gone now :T

2 items of clothing and a book decluttered :T

Off to make a cup of tea :)

Hoping you had a good day :)
