So yesterday I went to buy a laptop stand as I use it for work and it starts my neck looking down. I found one in P-World, but it cost £36 ,so I left it. Waiting for the rain to stop I thought about a perspex magazine rack I have and wondered if I could repurpose it. It worked. A piece of clutter moved off the floor, books and magazines moved and I now have complete work station. Well almost, I need a mouse…
I bought walking boots AGAIN.
This time I think they are comfortable (but you never know until it is too late to return them) They were a little pricey  but I needed them so I will just accept the cost. I need to get more active so it is money well spent (as long as they are comfortable…)
The coat I wanted to dry clean has been sponge cleaned and came up fine. It wan’t dirty but had water marks from being caught in a downpour. :money:
Today I am meeting a friend I haven’t seen for months at Kew Gardens. Taking fruit and chocolate and coffee for us both. I will leave after 9.30 so I can have half price fares. I keep getting trains within peak hours (and paying double what I need to) when there is no need. Another frugal habit to acquire.
I hope your week gets off to a good start

If you can spare a day then do so. I went all day yesterday and still just saw about 20% of what it had to offer. True, we were in the conservatory twice drinking tea, but seriously, so much to see...a truly beautiful, calm, oasis in these crazy timesin_need_of_direction wrote: »I have never made it to Kew but it’s on my bucket list. Thanks SSG58. Kew was beautiful. Always something new to see and lots of reds and golds as the trees change. Picked up my first conker of the season. My highlight was the Egyptian and Canadian geeseSeasidegal58 wrote: »Hope you had a lovely day at Kew Gardens.

Kew was lovely and it is raining hard today so it was the right day to go. I avoided spending in the shop and spent £5 on coffee/tea and of course there were fares.
The house is a tip AGAIN. So will sort this today.
I also want to rustle up some food based on what I already have so I raided the freezer. I don't have much in the way of veggies but I will use frozen instead.
I need to buy a mouse so might go in search if the rain stops. Still need a PO trip and another bag to the CS.
I've been overspending but I put that down to the increase in social activities and buying things needed to set me up for this new lifestyle. I'm sure I will be able to pull it back next month and get on track. I had a little contingency, so I am not spending next month's money. It isn't brilliant but it isn't a disaster either.
I will be wearing the new walking boots in the home all day to test the comfort. If necessary they will go back. I hope not...
Have a positive day everyone

Just a reminder to keep all receipts relating to your self employmentMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks INOD your reminder about receipts is timely.

My holey slippers have been thrown away so now I need new ones. Lately there always seems to be something I need to buy! I still need a computer mouse too. Oh, and I am a train ticket short for my trip to Scotland...
I keep catching myself in money frittering activities…like taking a train to an area at a cost of £4.50 in fares. I used to like going there as it has Mr W and I read a ‘free’ newspaper and had a ‘free’ coffee but I don’t shop there anymore anyway since discovering the German supermarkets. Sometimes I do things on autopilot
Today I will be walking to an alternative area.
I am going back to meal planning for the week to be done every Sunday and posted. There, said it now.
I will be going to a glass shop to see how much they would charge for a window.
I put my inside plants outside so they can get light and rainwater. I do that sometimes and they perk up no end.;)
I am still eating much healthier, sleeping earlier and avoiding TV. I have not drunk any alcohol since August.
All good, but it is time to nail exercise.
