  • Good idea on utilising the gardeners to do the brunt of the work. As you say you can then keep on top of it.

Re the grocery shopping - I think there comes a time when, however careful you are, you just have to increase your budgets on certain categories through no fault of your own. Things end up just getting more expensive as time goes on - food especially.:(

As I single person ( and fussy eater) , my grocery shopping has never been great . Everything keeps going up, and contents shrink. rip off Britain .
    Anyway, keep going ..

Thanks SSG58 and AC :) I agree, no point stressing so the food budget has gone up now.

The gardeners may be away as I have had no answer to my request. In the meantime I have cracked on and the front garden is 80% finished and will be complete today. The back garden will be harder but I will make a start and see how I get on. I am happy with the front. It looks good. I will go to the garden centre later today for garden waste bags. On Sunday I will do a recycling centre run.

The squirrels are back! I had a reprieve for several months but they are back. I am going to call the pest controllers back but also begin to ask round for builder referrals so I can get quotes to do the sofits/fascias. The problem is it will require scaffolding so will be super expensive but it is a must!

I just emailed a friend who has an electrician I can use. This is important for the bathroom as it is holding up progress.

Yesterday I did not go to the craft shop or the PO or drop off the decluttering. I kept going with the garden instead.

Today? More gardening/Garden centre/ Decluttering/ Cleaning/Batch cooking. I also need to get the poster laminated (still not done) and I WILL get rid of the bags in my car boot to the CS.

I’ve been speaking to the neighbours who are doing the extension and tomorrow morning the workman will be coming to repair my wall. Progress.

Still can’t find a leg of my daybed!! Everything out from under the stairs so created loads of mess. Frustrating!!

Oh and I am hugely over budget and only half way through the month. I'm putting it down to my holiday but I may have to dip into my Christmas savings to get through the month. Not good! Glad I sent that expensive bag back now...

Hoping for a productive day. Wishing you all the kind of day you wish for yourself.

Well done on the gardening :)
    Boo to the blooming squirrels.
I wish I had a quarter of your energy though.

  • I worked until it was dark in the front garden yesterday. I bought the bags from the garden centre and bagged up the garden waste. I still have a border to do and some of the paving needs weeding but combined with the windows being cleaned, the front of my house looks so much better.:)

The gardeners called me yesterday. They are busy but can come next week. That suits me as I haven’t started the back garden yet.:)

Beanie suggested I have a lot of energy recently and it dawned on me that I do. Why? Sleeping better, less stress, eating better, being AF and I have lost half a stone since ending work. I have also given up TV mostly, although I will watch if a programme appeals to me. Not routinely watching TV makes me less sedentary and all this adds up to more energy. ;)

I have started running the washing machine at night so I can put it out as soon as I get up.

I have a tradesman coming this morning to fix the wall my neighbour’s workman broke in the first place.

This afternoon I am meeting a friend in the city. We are having coffee so I will take water, my reusable cup and a few nuts too.

Still not done the CS run, the PO, or sorted the poster or the batik but that can wait until tomorrow as all can be done locally.

Wishing you all a positive day.
