My year of living dangerously

Glad you had a good holiday and are relaxed about the next phase"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks for all the positive vibes
I guess I am relaxed. Definitely not putting any pressure on myself work wise until after the creative retreat in October.
That said, my car needs repairs so I need to identify a garage and I should crack on with getting the window in before the weather turns…:o
Thanks to HHOD and SSG58 talking about Premium Bonds I finally got round to purchasing some myself. I took half of my redundancy pay that was sat in a savings account earning next to nothing and put it in bonds instead. They are instant access and I don’t need the money until 2020 so I may as well be in with a chance of a win
I did another batch of washing and made contact with friends. (Determined to stay in the loop)
I did some drudge work in the house.
I have identified some yoga classes to try. If I don’t like them I don’t have to go back but I am going to try them next week.
I identified two creative work opportunities that will need completing over the next 2 weeks
Oh, and I am keeping September AF as I feel drinking was making me feel unwell.
So, that is me today. Hope you are having a good dayIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Good to see you back DIA and glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday.
As you say, the Premium Bonds are easy access and you may have a win in-between now and the time you need to draw out the funds. As interest rates are so derisory you might as well have a gamble here. At least your capital will be safe!
Also that's an excellent idea to keep up contact with friends - good ones are worth their weight in gold! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Alcohol doesn't agree with me much either and although enjoyable at the time I haven't missed the after effects this past year.
Good luck on your new self-employed start in life. I hope you win something on the premium bonds and enjoy the yoga classes.

I think one glass will be my way forward. I can't see myself not drinking ever but I definitely struggle to metabolise drink these days.

My brain woke up today wanting progress, so I am going to list some of the things that require no money at all. I can do these things myself over the next few weeks before I start my other work.
I need to buy some petrol and a few groceries. I will also buy a paper. I have worked on Saturdays for years so that will be a treat. Later I am off to a dance production with a friend I have not seen for several months. I will take a few toasted nuts with me and some water but I should not need to buy any food or drink as the ticket is expensive enough!
JOBS TO DO MYSELF OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS
Remove tiles in bathroom
Remove kitchen tiles
Remove metal edging in kitchen
Paint skirting in bedroom
Paint door frames and doors in bedroom
Strip walls in box room
Skip run
Gardening (front)
Gardening (back)
Take car to garage for a quote
Have a happy Saturday everyoneIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Very positive jobs list! It's good that you've now got free time to do these rather than trying to fit them round work and stressing when you're too tired start! (like me!):)Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
