Thanks jwil. I decided to leave it and when I do the outside brickwork generally, they can address this too. I don't want to have contact with them at all right now...

Yesterday I stayed close to home.

I have some spare tiles from the porch job that I will use to line one of the flowerbeds as the builders next door are sweeping rubbish into it! A friend of mine ‘rescues’ end of line plants from a garden centre nearby. I might start doing the same.

FROG EATEN IN A FEW SITTINGS
I went to buy the car coolant. There is more than one type. Who knew?? I know how to open the bonnet. I could see it was almost empty as suspected! I am going to check the car guide so that I put the coolant in the correct bit…;)

I need to find a garage to do a service. My friend recommended hers. I said I would check it out but I have not.

The fuse in my iron was gone so clothes everywhere for a few days. Yesterday I bought fuses, put one in iron, ironed clothes and packed them away :)

I threw away all the nutritionally poor food in the freezer/fridge. I am ready to start eating well again. I went off piste for a bit there...I am also browsing organic veg boxes again. Maybe I will go back to a box fortnightly? monthly?

There is still dust everywhere so I will be hoovering and cleaning today.

I am now a member of the new gym :j:j (but it won’t open until mid July.)

    Have a good day everyone

  • Hey DIA :)
Regarding the neighbour issue : it's all part of the pita of your new adjustments . Hopefully nothing too major has been done and you'll sell with no problem when you're ready to sell . Fingers crossed .

Great news on the gym front . One thing that I envy about you ( and practically 99% of the people I know :rotfl:) is your healthy eating .
I have allergies on nearly every vegetable bar peas. The smell of an onion will make me vomit . I'll leave it there , as I'm sure you get the picture :o
My fridge freezer was beginning to look like the Antarctic inside and I eventually emptied all of my stuff out of there , cleaned it out and like yourself chucked out stuff .

Anyway , good to see you're still chipping away and are upbeat . .

    Thanks AC :)
I can feel myself gearing up for the new normal. Not long to go now...
Sorry about your veg allergy. I do love my veg. I even put chopped kale in my morning eggs!
I think I'm upbeat because I took some time out to relax and see friends...

Threw out all the cheese. This is the most painful part. Keeping chocolate but 85% only...:(

I'm sorry DIA, but your neighbour is seriously taking the Michael to the point of disrespect, and I think you need to say something about it.

I know you are trying to keep the right side of being able to say good relations, but I think you can make a comment to him about the workmen in a knowing "what scallywags" sort of way, but you need to ask him to set their boundaries.

my worry is they will do something a bit more serious that could have
    value implications.

Have to say not my strong point, but maybe some others here would have some ideas about how to phrase it in a way that doesn't just get ignored
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Thanks Marks88, I think the worst is over and not much I can do about the value implications other than take them to court if there is damage. The foundations have been dug and that might be an issue but the Party Wall Act no longer applies so I can't redress any issues (if there are any) They are taking the Michael and perhaps I will ask them to fix the wall. I feel a bit bullied and bullies usually get worse unless they are stood up to, though I don't fancy it. You have a good point as always. Thanks.

Yes - sadly there are nice people, and people who take advantage. I think we know who is who in this scenario. I only raised it because I wouldn't want the workmen thinking they could take any more liberties eg damaging grass / verges. I wasn't really thinking about correcting past mistakes rather than not creating new ones.

But if you are up to a good hard stare at them over the damage to the wall that could be helpful, as it would establish that they were warned and then if they repeated the offence that would go down badly. Anyway from one non lawyer to another I hope the last bits go well

Thanks Marks88 :) The builders have not been on site for a few days. When I see my neighbour I will tell him about the wall and ask for it to be repaired

Thanks Sunshine girl I am trying to manage the stress. They have been away for a few days so I have been able to breathe out ;)
