Try Mauritius ..we were there for our 30th anniversary.
Amazing place, and loads to do.
We also did a three day stopover in Dubai ..just to relax.
  • What about a long weekend in Cardiff?

Not only do you have the city to explore you'd be 40 mins by car from the Brecon Beacons if you fancied walking.

Some lovely hotels in Cardiff - I've always fancied The Exchange in the Bay

Or go a bit further and explore the Gower Peninsula: the first place in the UK to be designated an "area of outstanding natural beauty".

I should be 100% behind that it's where I was born but, for an anniversary I'd want further afield.

Last March we went to Venice and Milan, 3 nights in each and a train in between. So much to see and do and if you like food, what better than Italian. :)

Or there's Florence or Verona if you fancy Italy.

Other ideas are Vienna or Berlin or Salzburg.

I'd also second Egypt. It's not a massive flight. The weather is excellent in February. I went for a week (only had a week off work) and did Luxor for the Valley of the Kings then a cruise to Aswan. Friends just got back from a 2 week cruise from Cairo to Aswan and loved it. :)

Not that easy to get to for me except by Air Mauritius.

But except for the beach what else is there to do??
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

we didn't mind Cyprus, but I don't feel a rush to go back ... if it was maybe just a wee week away or something then yeah I would consider it, but not too sure I want to go there for a special anniversary

thanks for the idea though :)

Egypt is not ridiculously far, and would have decent weather at that time of year. And Oman is a bit further: the city of Muscat is supposed to be ancient and interesting while the snorkelling there is outstanding. February would be just about the best time of year for Oman.

Oman is beautiful and interesting, not a common tourist destination afaik. The people are very nice there too.
