Morning all  :coffee:
Lots of changes of plans going on here this week. So pleased I'm not at work because I don't cope that well with a lot of change - it stresses me out, and the further out of my control it is the more stressed I get.
Anyway - ended up going out early yesterday for an early appointment with my sister. Took my money box of 20ps and loose change/penny savings to cash in at the bank as they have a coin machine there. There was over £112 in there, which I was really pleased with. Had made plans to go for afternoon tea for lunch with bestie and our sons, which was lovely and there were loads of leftovers which will do brilliantly for today.
Bestie's car has been recalled by the manufacturer, and she had an appointment to get the work done for next month but the car started breaking yesterday so we took it into the garage this morning and I brought her back.
Now just about to go to my sister's house as her ex is due to visit and she's not looking forward to it at all - needs a bit of moral support.
I'm trying to just go with the flow as best I can.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hello all
Made a decent start today:
HG (ie free) fruit with breakfast
Walked dog
Planted out broad beans and peas and hopefully have protected them sufficiently from the destructive jackdaws. Used netting, canes, string, all sorts of bits and pieces that we already have, so no spends needed. Doesn't look terribly tidy though
Also planted out a couple of perpetual spinach plants that survived the microleaves harvest. For some reason the birds don't bother with spinach.
Load of washing, now blowing in the wind outside on the lineNow in, mainly folded and ready to put away, a couple of items put aside for ironing.
Checked banks, updated spreadsheet
Still to do:
Walk to post office with RM surveys item plus other stuff. Will take dog. Done
Clean bathroom Done
Sort conservatory Made a start, shifted a lot of stuff backto the garage
Make banana bread Not yet
Ring dentist Oops
Sort out reusable plastic tubs / tupperware. I have several tubs and lids that don't go together and it drives me mad as for some reason they are always the ones I grab when I need to use one! Not yet, but the night is young!
Prep newly arrived RM survey items ready to post Not yet
Any online surveys that come my way Done
Made a sweet potato, chick pea and spinach curry, using HG perpetual spinach, just about to eat some :j
I will be pleased if I get all that done :rotfl: Didn't get it all done, but quite pleased with progress!0 -
Afternoon all, just having a catch up over late lunch - all from my own fridge and tea will be from stores too. Did a couple of SB surveys last night. Hung out 2 lots of washing before work. Going to Mr Ts for cat food on way home; going to get a few supplies in for DD2 who is back to uni at the weekend - got a £5 voucher if spend £40 so will try to spend exactly that! Bought some face cream i like from M%S as they had 20% off. Also sent money to both DDs who are struggling! So very spendy here

Evening all
I have been reading through each day and trying to be as dfw as possible...i have brought myself a new washing line today £9.99 was the cheapest rotary line i could find but already had a load on it!! So its saved me money from the first day!! Not spent anything else today although did cancel an insurance on a product we no longer have (all my appliances are quite old now and i have had my policies for nearly 2 years and had a new appliance each year so its paying for itself and giving me peace if mind) also found i have been charged for 3 months on my washing machine so claimed that back through the bank should have back tomorrow so thats £24 back in my pot :money:
Dfw jobs for tomorrow:
•Work all day
• maybe a load of washing if i have a full load
•general cleaning
• all food from stores
• going out tomorrow evening with my friend its her birthday present but shes buying the drinks (only pop as driving) will cost £20 in total to get in
• collect shopping...done click and collect
• maybe do a batch of chocolate muffins as the last lot went down so well :j
Thats it for now im going to relax with a cuppa and sit down for an hour as not stopped all day!!0 -

Travel date brought forward
:D so I'm now at home! Unfortunately, that means a laundry list of tasks to try to cram into a mere 10 days...
Today: changed brake pads. Only took an hour, and £75 of parts, which is better than the £600 the garage tried to charge, so feeling a bit pleased with that one.
Next, got a broken fence post and a couple of warped fence panels - I'm not sure whether just to get the basic rough-sawn panels again, or spend a bit more and not have to change the blasted things so often. How do fence panel economics work? Do more expensive ones stand up better to abuse? Unfortunately my fence is transverse to the prevailing wind, so I find myself recovering stray panels from a few doors down every couple of years.
After that, since I'm now not a UK taxpayer (hooray!) I need to talk to DWP to sort out NI payments, as I quite like the idea of a perpetual index-linked pension that never runs out of money...
I'm pretty sure I'll be put to work fixing something or painting something else... then I can go back to work for a rest :rotfl:
Still, good to be home. I missed the rest of Familien SPL :heart2:0 -
I got my new car yesterday. So here I am, at the ripe old age of 58, and that's the first time I've bought a car all by myself - previous cars have always been bought with 'advice' from my husband.
I've gone for a Mini, 1.6l. It cost me less that half of what I got back from WBAC.com on the old one, so I'll be throwing the difference at the loan and reducing the monthly outgoings. Feeling very good about it. I'd rather be driving a small car that I know I can afford, than a big fancy car with high running costs that could bite me on the bum further down the line (don't get me wrong - when OH and I were still together, we were covering the costs without difficulty). And I like the feeling of being master of my own destiny. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
ziggy sorry to hear an issue has come back. Hope you're feeling better.
My list today:
Get up to date with work
Get something out of freezer for tea
4 loads of washing  2nd one on already. Will be pegged out
Edit online shop stick to list
Walk tonight with friend
Label some more items for sale and get some more out of loft that I've done before
Check banking
Submit meter reading online. Glad they are well below their estimate :A
Tidy through and vacuum, do like a clean house before we go away.
Get smalls to sort out some stuff to keep them entertained whilst away and in the car
Keep an eye out for e mail confirmation of sorted frog from yesterday :T
Have a good day folks.0
