Morning all
Quite spendy here as had hair cut and coloured yesterday and did food shop for DD2 who goes back to uni todayHave still been doing small steps like washing on the line, doing surveys and heating mostly off - only on for a few hours yesterday eve as it was very cold. Also remembering to check letters from Mr T as he likes to send money off vouchers so I used a £5 voucher for the uni shop yesterday and have loads of vouchers for 50p off cat food so saved £1 on that yesterday - all helps. I also walked to the hairdressers and back - over 7500 steps! Good for my budget and my health
Hoping for some more NSDs now DD2 going back to uni and a very busy 4 days ahead at work so no time to spend money!
Agree trailingspouse re tv - I don't live alone but DD1 often out and DD2 at uni so some background noise can be company but I like to have the radio on when i'm in the kitchen and am learning to enjoy the silence of an empty houseI love reading and am lucky that the library is 2 minutes from my office so I often borrow books from there.

Hi April Awesomees,
Morning!:coffee: Day off...I've been missing in action in the real world on a world project away from home. Alas, no time to read everyone else's posts but I send you all my good wishes.
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:
* Check online banking. Done.
* Continue my Challenge 500 miles challenge to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. I'm up to 142/500 and on crutches with a sore ankle; will 'walk' without weight bearing on it. Done.
* Eat batch cooked soup. Done.
* Make cheese. Done.
* Remember to take loyalty card to Superdrug this morning when purchasing generic cold remedies. Done.
* Clear out In Tray. Done.
* Clear out wallet. Done.
* Clear emails. Done.
* Go for Tapas later. This isn't MSE but I've spent not a lot this week so we can afford it. It's just round the corner so will 'walk' round and only go for two courses, not three. Done. Bought a dessert home at takeaway price. One-between-two.
* Watch ice hockey final on tv this afternoon for free. In progress.
* Do a million other jobs I've had no time for this week. Details to follow.

Morning guys
I've woken up really tired! Struggling to wake up & on my 2nd coffee :eek: madam is at this point desperate for some entertainment! Have promised crafts after this coffee...
Madam has a party to go to at 1, and I have a gift in the gift box that has been waiting until the next party came alonghair braiding set I picked up for a fiver last month :money:
yesterday we had a day in London. Took madam to the Natural History Museum, walked through hyde park and visited Buckingham palace to show her where the Queen lives, walked through some of the Palatial streets looking at the buildings then had something to eat and came home. Was a lovely day, she was in good spirits and we all had funThe next week needs to be less spendy....
Today:
* washing
* meals from stores - get something out of freezer
* cut out pattern & fabric. Will def do today. Have been procrastinating as need to adjust the pattern for my diddy shape/size and not feeling so confident!
* oh has agreed to come to the allotment and do some digging with me
* read free book - I also have the kindle offer. I've already it had it once but oh signed up when I asked him to so I can continue reading the series I have got in to :money:
* go for a walk with madam this afternoon.
Ok better finish off my coffee and tidy up. Hope you all have a good Sunday xDF as at 30/12/16

I have been doing a long term finances planner on one of my accounts, which I pay my mortgage from. Obviously some guess work on the annual increases but I have based those on past increases.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

Today's plans -
- a volunteering day today, doing cookery demonstrations at the historic house where I volunteer. It looks like we'll be busy. Two sessions are in the programme, but I have an informal agreement with the people on reception who take the bookings, that if tickets to the first session sell out quickly, I'll squeeze an extra one in. Out most of the day, so no need for heating until I get back in later. And tea/coffee and bikkies are provided (although if I have time to sit down for a brew it'll be a miracle!!)
- there's time to get a load of washing in, then out on the line before I go, which will hopefully be dry by the time I get back.
- I need to buy cards for my son and his wife, whose birthdays are both later this month. I'll post her card, so it arrives on the day, but will be seeing son next week - will hang on to their presents and his card until I see him. It also means I don't have to worry about postage when I'm choosing the gifts. I'm limiting my gift buying to £10 per person per occasion this year, but I'll be availing myself of the 20% off that I get in the gift shop as a volunteer. And no need to buy gift wrap as I have a stash.
- it's Rubber Chicken day 2 - so chicken and chutney (from stores) sandwiches for lunch, and chicken curry for dinner.
Time to stop sitting around thinking about it, and get on and do it!!No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
