Are any other sellers offering it for less than £3.53? That way you could order it from them £3.53 + £6.94 postage to USA (£10.47 total) and you would still have the original book to resell (UK only).

Some larger sellers have contracts with RM, so their postage charges are not as high.

    Just an idea.

Umm - I have still got 45 of these books left after this sale. Just didn't want to take the loss between the amount I got from Amazon and the total postage costs but it looks like I have to. Will go and amend my listing as not to sell the rest of them outside UK. Thanks everybody.

Italy does seem to be a problem, I have come across several ebay auctions that state no sales to Italy.

I did sell a book last month to Italy actually, through ebay though not Amazon and I have had no feedback yet but nor have I had any complaints that book has failed to arrive..so I can't say whether it is definitely there or not, sorry.

I've posted a few books to Italy over the last 6 months or so, no problems. Previously I had 'lost' a couple - maybe they have sorted out their 'issues'?

Well the friends have gone - my books sold yesterday.
I will have mixed emotions when they go (hopefully tomorrow)
So it's goodbye from me for this thread, thanks for all your help and advice. See you on other threads (especially you FFM)

Congrats on the sale Annie, I would also have mixed emotions if I sold off all of my stock. I think you got a good price though, so that was good.

I went out on my bike today to save fuel and pick up some bargains, it's great 'cos it feels like I'm getting free petrol.

    See you elsewhere, TTFN

Hoping someone can help me. I posted an item I sold (a toy) over a month ago and kept proof of postage. Buyer said they havent had it and reported it to amazon. They previously emailed me asking where it was, i replied to say it was posted, if its not here end of week get bk to me and ill open dispute with RM. Anyway they didnt get bk to me so assume all was ok.

Amazon are refusing to accept my proof of postage as its not trackable and said they are going to charge my account / card to refund the buyer. I suspect the buyer is pulling a fast one, otherwise surely theyd of came back and said its not here file a claim!

Anyway around this as I dont see why I should be out of pocket cos of a scamming buyer?
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

emweaver, sadly Amazon often don't support the sellers. As you have proof of postage I would just submit a claim to the Royal Mail. You will get a refund and they then have the option of following it up. If the buyer keeps having 'claims' for lost items against them that should ring alarm bells with the RM.

    Good luck

I've managed to clear just over £50 in the last couple of weeks by selling a couple of old, unwanted books. I'm now toying with the idea of buying a few books from a charity shop - say 10 max as I live in a tiny flat - and then seeing if I can sell them on Amazon. Money's very tight so I don't want to invest too much at first. How much do you think it would be sensible to set aside to buy my 'stock'? Could I get away with as little as £20 for 10 books? And is anything selling particularly well/badly just at the moment?
