Just be careful selling books that you've received for free from Freecycle. Different groups have their own policy on reselling, but it's generally courteous to let the giver know that you're intending to resell the books. (People have been kicked off their local Freecycle groups for reselling things.)

Yep - we ban people who do not state up front that they are going to resell what they ask for - no excuses and no second chances. Informed choice is what we ask for - some folks don't mind you selling on as long as they know, so best to be honest and tell them so they can make that choice of who to give it to.

I don't buy to sell on - I couldn't face the complex tax stuff of adding self employed to what I already do! We do ...ummm - did have an awful lot of books though and are both avid readers so we tend to acquire more that take our fancy, though that is calming as we pack to move - too d*mn busy!
  • Hi Christina,

Have sent you a PM with Samtrina's contact info. Didn't think I should publish folks emails and phone numbers directly on here.

    Good luck

  • I've had a payment pending for the last few days - got the email from amazon and it's been listed as pending in my payments. I emailed them yesterday, haven't had a reply or sold email - just checked to see if it's been cancelled and it's now listed as 'processing payment'. Does this mean I should be getting the payment soon?

  • Hi Soolin,
I'd be inclined to ignore the American listing and price around the £100 mark - many buyers want their book as soon as possible and invariably the delivery time can be exceedingly long from the states. Equally, if it is an American Megalister there customer service and feedback may not be up to yours (they may not even have the item in stock.).
Finally, if the $99 copy is not on Amazon, many Amazon buyers will not even search any other site, so, again, I'd be tempted to ignore that one.
Of course, it also depends on which is more important to you - £50 possibly sooner, or £100 maybe later - of it were me, it would go on there with a £75 tag (but then I'm hopelessly indecisive and that's just somewhere in the middle!).
    Hope this helps,
    Martin.

    Hi Jenna,

if you get an email from Amazon to say a sale is pending then if it doesn't sell it will be cancelled and relisted by them after 72 hours - has that time passed now? If so the item should have moved back to quantity 1 in your open listings. While it is a pending sale, I think it will say that payment is being processed, AFAIK it then moves to saying 'cancelled' after the 72 hours. I THINK thats right anyway, I recently had a pending sale for £29 so was watching it all VERY closely and it did eventually sell - hope yours does too.

    Hi all

I have not checked in for ages. I was at one time an really excited gung ho Amazon seller (thanks AT) but time restraints + forking out for worthless books + then having to get rid of said books have seen me scale right back.

I still have the odd sale - maybe one a week, some weeks none atall and in Janurary a flurry of five in one week - all novels which I tend to avoid!

I still look at the odd book at a boot sale, and sold a £1 one recently for a profit of £22 :j but with my house beginning to resemble Steptoes Yard (its small!), and I am finding I have lots more money at the end of the week. Inevitably a trip to the charity shop will include not only the books, but clothes off the pound rail and other gizmos. I just had to step back from it.

    Hello
I'm new to Amazon. I listed and sold a few text books. Some listings have now expired. I received an email from Amazon telling me and saying I can use the "relist this item" link.

But I can find it anywhere!

Please could someone experience guide me to this link.

    Thank you

    Hi Larmy

Nice to hear from you again after so long. AT hasn't been around for a while, she's busy doing her other stuff - but it's not the same without her.

Well done on the £22 sale, I love it when that happens.

    Hi Looby Loo

Not sure if I can help as my listings don't end as I am signed up as a pro-seller. Have you looked in your 'closed listings'? Go to the link that says 'View your inventory', and then click on 'your marketplace closed listings' near to the top right of the screen. The link should be on the right hand side of the list.

Hope your set up looks the same as mine, otherwise I am sure a non-pro will pop along later to help out.
