• ADVICE NEEDED FOR NON-DELIVERY OF PARCELS.

Help !! I have now been selling on ebay for 4 years and only had one 1 genuine non delivery of goods.

Now selling on Amazon as well and i have regular complaints about non delivery. The last 2 parcels were returned to me via post office 'not called for'

Is it a weird coincidence that the amazon buyers because of the feedback system/amazon buyer protection scheme seem to claim their parcels do not arrive?

Does anybody else have the same problem?

Also with amazon if the parcel does get returned to sender (before any refund has been given) would you deduct the original postal charges?

thanks

have had 2 parcels apparently not arrive in last few weeks, both were sent on 20th november, one was an amazon marketplace sale and one was play trade. have had to refund buyers for both. i've put in a claim with royal mail, but both items were on the same COP so no doubt i will get one of my claims returned and asked for COP again when they already have it with the other claim.
• Hi Folks,

Just as a follow on from my eariler message, and to let you all know.

I think the email system at Listbooks is down altogether. Not only have I not had an email notification of a sale but I tested the system by sending a message to myself and that has not arrived either (I have checked my email address is correct by the way).

The contact form to send a message to Lee is also not working.

Also I have emailed Lee directly on lee@listbooks.co.uk and although the message has gone I have had no reply as yet.

Hi

At what stage do I work on the basis that a book is not going to turn up? I bought my first book from Amazon marketplace and it hasn't arrived after 10 days. It was for a xmas pressie and I need it for Thursday when it will be about 2 weeks from when I bought it. I have emailed the seller who hasn't replied!

Snap!!!

I should have known better as I have dealt with my Seller before and got the same 'service', but I really wanted the book for my step father.

• Some of the big sellers like aphrohead, less4u, depository, etc do not actually always have items they list in stock, they order them from a central wholesaler on demand and dispatch to you once the order has arrived with them. This often leads to delays of 7-14days in delivery and very little communication when you attempt to chase it up. I have previously cancelled books ordered from the depository a week after they should have arrived and been refunded quickly, I imagine if the order was already on it's way to me they would try and stall me for a few days, but on that occasion they just refunded and said sorry.

The other explanation could be that the postal service is currently at breaking point and struggling to cope with the demand. The shops may not be busy, but judging by the queues at the PO today internet sales are UP! I've had items sent to me first class in the last week that have taken 4 days to arrive and I know a few of my customers had to wait 7-10days for deliveries from me, whilst other received their order in 2 days. As a result I'm sending out first class until the [STRIKE]hostilities[/STRIKE] Festivities are over!

Hi Debs

I have totalled my profit each month throughout the year, but doesn't it add up!!! (got some more to add).

Not bad considering it is just stuff from around the house and donated books.
It does make you realise it is worth you selling the odd bit here and there!

another new years resolution add up my sales!! even better try to save my profit for something

HI there Just saw this thread. I just started listing cds on Amazon and believe it or not have sold 24 in less than a week. I soon realised that I had priced a few too low and lost out on P&P but then wised up and have made nearly £80 plus got lucky with jiffy bags (5) being 3 for 2 in the stationery box. I am so chuffed. Is there another thread like this for cds rather than books? These were all going to a school fair about two weeks ago but were accidentally left behind. This is going to help me so much in January when I get the money in my bank account. I do think amazon fees are really high though but it's so much easier to list there than on ebay:) HAve a good christmas. I might be listing books soon - thanks for all of the tips!

• First of all welcome Lililou and I hope you have a profitable Christmas!

I am going to put my account on holiday settings over the festive period to placate my OH and to stop him moaning about how much time I spend in the shed and on the computer!

My question is that I have a pending order - looks like it is from abroad as the postage credit is £6.94!). Anyway, this is the second time this person has ordered this item and the second time it has gone pending:confused: .

If I put my account on holiday what will happen? Will the order be cancelled by Amazon or will it carry on and maybe turn into a completed order?

I haven't contacted the buyer as I thought I may just confuse them!

• Wonder if anyone could give me some advice pls?

I have had a book returned to me from a buyer as I had mistakenly sent the wrong book. I have refunded her the full amount, but she has now asked for a refund of the cost of sending the book back to me.

I am happy to do this as it was my fault - but when I go onto Amazon, it shows as being fully refunded and wont let me refund anything else. ANy suggestions pls?
