  • I like many others have become a victim but one thing I would like to say is...move on, take the advice from the threads, sort out yourselves and find the next bargain that will pay for our mistakes. We all new the risks, its in the T&C's . No body made you sign on the dotted line, so deal with it. Soon you will all be in credit again and much more wiser. I have been messing around with mobiles purely for myself and family and I think over 8 years ........having to pay for my bill this year for the first time! and now realizing that my next contract will also have to be paid for, thats not a great deal over 8 years of communication.

Sites like this provide excellent advice on how to make the best of what you have got in your wallet.....I for one thank everyone who contributes and lets me save a quid or two. SO I will be looking for my next deal!
  • Well said. I couldn't agree more!
  • Moving on.....I have successfully ported my mobile number from three (contract) to three (pay as you go) to a new three contract deal. Most people told me it was never going to be possible but I have done it with a bit of persuasion with customer services. On a mix and match 1100 with 3 at £27 which I got from Phoneboxdirect before they went bust which offered 18 months complete cash back over 5 installments. Okay so I won't get my cash back for the next 18 months but at least I kept my special number 0777**777**. on a network that has looked after me, provided me with enough minutes and text and is the cheapest on the market with a excellent new phone. Anyone had a success on moving contracts with the same network and kept your number ? I would be interested

Thats great news, well done. The powers of persuasion work wonders! Whats more amazing is you did the deal with 3, fantastic. Im sure a lot of the knack of getting where you want to be is the tone of the voice and the manner in which you speak. Also of course, saying thank you at the end! (which im sure you did :j )
  • What lower tarrif you move, in my case they just reduce from £35 to £30 nothing less than that, Has anybody move more than this, Can all T-mobile user share there view .....

Got a reply from T-mobile. After explaining my tight financial situation they moved me to a lower standard tarrif.

My advice to others on T-mobile would be to contact the customer relations team and politely explain your situation. Its down to their discretion whether to allow you to change price plan it seems.

Other teams on t-mobile (price plans, email etc... dont seem to have the authorisation to do this....i may be wrong)

I dont understand this. If you wont get any money back - by moving to ThreePay - you are still paying you initial line rental as agreed with PBD.

    I'm confuesed as I have a 3 contract - still 6 months to go @ £35/month
  • You should edit your number to not display the whole number.

You never know what wierdo's you get on the internet.

Ring back 191 opt 2 and then 4 and organise another callback ... you can't speak to them direct.

I phoned Vodafone yesterday before I read the above message and got nowhere and was told no one at vodafone was dealing with this (I even got the guy to check with a manager and also with their cancellation/retentions department).
I have tried calling as above but there is no option number 4!
Does anyone know of a definate way to contact vodafone about this?

    thanks
  • Yes my OH did manage to get herself tied up with a new 12 month contract at half price of £17.50 as discussed earlier ..... got so exited at a deal she accepted without thinking. Have called them 3 times requesting a call back to resolve this and get it reduced back down to the original contract length but they have not bothered to call back and their cs staff can't help ! Stuck ! I'll just have to cancel their deal and ditch them at the end of the contract ! So frustrating !

On my option 4 it was to cancel a contract, so not sure if this is the right dept. - plus my contract still has 8 mths to run, have just tried to claim cashback but letter returned 'gone away' (not in prison worst luck), these people make me sick, they will start up again 6 mths time.

As i did it over the internet with pbd, i dont actually have a contract -( my husband does from vodafone shop )- where do i stand, could i cancel with vodafone, if they dont offer a decent deal? Any good advice welcome x
