Cashback contracts usually stipulate that if you alter your tariff downwards during the cashback period, then the deal is off.0 -
thanks for the alert Quentin and mcmanlyn.
I will inform my friend of the possible consequences that may affect her cashback so that she can change it before it is too late.

Hi,
I called up Vodafone last week…a couple of times and I was told that they are sending a memo to another team and that I will be getting a call from the team.
But, I havent got any calls from them yet.Can someone pls tell me if you are able to talk to the spl team directly from 191? Or, how do you guys manage to talk to the right people?
I have three Vodafone contracts and so, I am desperately trying to reach Vodafone! Any help much appreciated!!

Ring back 191 opt 2 and then 4 and organise another callback ... you can't speak to them direct.0 -

My friend has phoned M2yd to check with them if the network has applied monthly discount to the line rental of the same tariff that has been bought from them if it would invalidate the cashback. The lady who answered said NO.
But because the answer was over the phone, she will contact them via email for this to get a written evidence.0 -
Don't want to keep on about the same point, but you need to be careful about this.
Most contracts will contain a clause that says something like "no-one is allowed to vary these terms".
The m2yd contract does refer to the "value" of the tariff not being allowed to be changed, and your friend needs specific reference to this clause being varied to allow her to continue to get the cashback, as the value of the tariff will be less than it was originally if it is reduced by half. The bill(s) accompanying your claim form must show that you have, at all times since the date of connection pursuant to the promotional offer, been on the same or higher value tariff0 -
I advised her to claim cashback as normal and stop the discount from being applied which is really better than taking any risk in that matter.
she has agreed to that as she isn't ready to take any risks.0 -
Got a reply from T-mobile. After explaining my tight financial situation they moved me to a lower standard tarrif.
My advice to others on T-mobile would be to contact the customer relations team and politely explain your situation. Its down to their discretion whether to allow you to change price plan it seems.
Other teams on t-mobile (price plans, email etc... dont seem to have the authorisation to do this....i may be wrong)0 -

The t&c for Mobiles2your door also say they can decline claims for any reason, basically. I could have done this too but decided not to remembering that, apart from the basic risk already discussed. What they tell you over the phone varies with things they tell you in writing - though the written can also vary at different times. Bottom line is they would rather not pay up than pay!0
