A lot of people seem to be cowering in the face of the mighty Vodafone, saying be polite. Realise you are the small man and they are the mighty force. Perhaps sacrifice a goat or two for the CS staff.
!!!!!!!! If they are offering £5 contract to one person, then surely all people in the same "boat" should get it. This isn't a car boot sale situation.
I haven't heard from Vodafone yet, but if they don't offer the £5 option I shall be demanding to go higher, not kissing butt!

HI EVERYONE THIS IS MY FIRST EVER MESSAGE ON HERE SO I APOLOGISE IF I MAKE ANY MISTAKES.
I HAVE A MOBILE PHONE WHICH I SHOULD GET CASH BACK ON THROUGH COOLNEWMOBILES.CO.UK HOWEVER WHEN SEARCHING FOR THEIR WEBSITE THIS MORNING AS I HADN'T RECEIVED MY CHEQUE I WAS FACED WITH AN ANNOUNCEMENT STATING:
MOBILE MEDIA SYSTEMS LTD t/A PHONEBOXDIRECT AND MOBILE AFFILIATES LTD t/A COOLENEWMOBILE AND PHONES2YOURDOOR...THESE COMPANIES WERE PLACED IN ADMINISTRATION ON THE 14TH OF NOVEMBER 2007.
i WOULD BE GRATEFUL TO ANYONE WHO HAS ANY ADVICE, IT SEEMS THE REASON THAT HAS BEEN LISTED FOR THEM FAILING IS DUE TO THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS COMPLYING WITH THE CASH BACK CLAIMS CONDITIONS EXCEEDED THE COMPANIES EXPECTATIONS THEREFORE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CONTINUE.
I WOULDN'T FEEL SO BAD IF IT DIDN'T APPEAR THEY HAD TRIED TO BE SO GREEDY IN THE FIRST PLACE.
HOPING THIS MESSAGE WILL STOP ANYONE FROM WASTING MONEY ON SENDING THEIR STATEMENTS AND CASH BACK FORMS OFF TO THEM WITH THE PROBABLE OUTCOME OF NO CASH BACK BEING SENT OUT.0 -
...........yes, thanks for that numee28.0

Yes I quite agree but my point was that a lot of people are getting irate and appear aggressive which really won't help their cause will it. We took the offer of cashback but anyone in their right mind knew it was a risk, surely. You have to speculate to accumulate in this world, so we got it wrong this time.
At the end of the day Vodafone ARE doing us a favour, the airtime contracts with them were separate from the cashback contracts with CNM etc, Vodafone could very easily have stuck to their guns like 3 and others appear to have done.0 -

Do you really think they are going to lose millions - that's not like companies like voda.
In fact they stand to make millions out of this in the long term.
This £5 deal they are doing is the greatest "retention" deal ever - they are making all their disgruntled customers happy, and many will stay with them for years (if you want to keep a mobile, and have seen the way the other networks have responded to the cashback collapse, who else would you go with?)
Additionally, they only give the £5 as a last resort (first they offer half price rental which many will gratefully accept, even some MSE members have reported accepting that deal, despite the £5 deal being widely posted about).
Plus presumably they have retained commission that was to be paid out to the Mobile Affiliates in stages. The MA liquidator will have problems getting that paid now!0 -
I will be grateful if/when Vodafone reduce my contract to a fiver, but I do very strongly feel that once they set a precedent of doing it for 1 person, it should be given that EVERYONE should get it, thus negating the need for anyone to get irate.

When Vodafone called me last night there was no other offer made, it was simply the £5 offer. I didn't have to beat him down at all. When I answered the call I was well prepared to be offered half price and then to have to ask to go down from £17.50 but it didn't happen. I was quite suprised to be honest.
As mentioned before, if they offer the £5 a month to one person they should offer it all round. Perhaps they realise this now.
Yes you are right, a lot of people will stay with Vodafone because of this but not me, when my contract ends next June im going back to PAYG with 02. This was my first contract and only taken on the basis of the cash back offer. Ok, so I lost out but theres no point crying over spilt milk now.0 -
I'm still waiting for my Vodafone callback. Has anybody been offered the £5 deal today ?0
-
My husband is still awaiting a call from Vodafone too but we live in hope.
Has anyone actually received a call from Vodafone without having called them first? Just wondering if they are calling all affected customers or just those who rang them first???????0
