I am aware that by doing so, I will be put into a blacklist (and consequently, I will have difficulties signing a new mobile phone contract and possibly will never be able to any longer). But, will I not be able to open a bank account or use my credit card either in the future? How bad is it to be put into a blacklist here in the UK? Could someone explain to me in a bit more details please?
Thanks in advance guys.
If you cancel your direct debit, the provider can take legal action against you to recover the money you owe.
Ultimately you may get a County Court Judgement (CCJ) against you.
This will be listed on every credit check agency file.
You may then find it impossible to get a bank account, credit card or any line of credit including a mortgage.
Negotiate with the provider, do not just walk away, these debts can follow you for life.0 -
No, but he did suggest it.
If I suggest to a parent that a child should have a vaccine for disease X. It later turns out that vaccine directly causes another disease. The parent comes back to me, clearly upset, and ask why I advised it. Do I have a proffesional responsibility to apologise? Would I say- "I didn't force your child to have the vaccine," and ultimatley, wouldn't the government who had advised the medical professionals that the drug was safe- ultimatley pay out compensation if the drug company went into insolvency.
Different scenario, same situation.
It isn't really is it?
You must be really really really really upset.
Have you called Tricia or Jeremy Kyle yet, maybe they'd have you on the show? Then you could tell everyone at home (or at least everyone thats at home at that time of day) how really really really really upset you are. Have you thought of filling out a MCOL against Martin? I heard about cashback from another customer I met in Tescos so obviously I'm thinking of suing her and Tesco as they didn't warn me of the risks. You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...0 -
I too am in the same situation. £73.50 pending from last contract, and full whack for current contract activated in August. I want to know if its possible obtain a reseller's contract so we can see exactly how commission is paid out, that way we can see for those of us a few months into our current contracts, whether some of the monies still reside with the network so this can be used in negotiations?0

First off, this site is NOT affiliated to anyone. Secondly, I did take one of my friends to this dealer - BUT they went in with their eyes wide open and knew ALL the risks from day one - and they (not me) worked on the basis they wouldn't GET their cashback. In their case, they would have been spending about the same anyway IF they didn't have a cashback dealer. In fact they've now had several and this is the first time we've come unstuck.
The simple facts are 1) no-one is responsible for paying you if the dealer folds. 2) in English Law there is a fundamental principle called caveat Emptor - which means Buyer Beware. These are facts. Nothing will change them for you right now. The money you expected is not coming back. You are still contracted to the networks and cannot either get out of that without severe penalties or hold them to account. Which leaves to this:-
It's the network or nothing. The networks which care will help. Those who don't, won't. Nothing else matters; the only assistance you can hope for is from them, like it or not. If you don't like it, don't get ino a cashback deal - this is how they work.
As for the half price - I have put my very clear thoughts on that on here a few times now. Quentin is correct.
jaddimon:- I'm afraid the best way is to go through 191 on the handset. You need to get the team dealing with this to call you back. It will be most unlikely that you will get much (if any) joy otherwise. Once again I suggest you give them a degree of admiration; it is only 6 days and I wouldn't like to be in their shoes either right now. THEY are going to lose millions themselves, potentially - AND must be getting inundated with all the WRONG type of customer calls. Most of them will never have heard of a cashback deal that alone the dealers. They are, I think, doing their best to help - and I'm not sure I can say that about the other networks. You need to be patient yet persistent. Think and don't jump.0 -
Hi all, have just been on Hot uk Deals Forum and I now have to pay £5 a month for rest of contract 500mins 250 txt's after contacting vodaphone. :j :j :j Have to wait and see about cashback though, :eek:0

Won't be anything to see about the cashback unless you like looking at the ones you (may) have got previously.0

I never mentioned sue'ing anyone.
And the site gets money when we click on there links- that is how they make money- therefore = affilate.0 -
I am not trying to pass the blame, but if a reputable company advertises something you would expect atleast an apology. I know that if, for example, I had advised my friend go with a house insurance company that had turned out to go into insolvancy I would be devistated- I am quite frankly suprised Martin has not sent an email around apologising for the fact, that something he advertised has turned out to be wrong.
Lets be honest, at the end of the day MSE is an affilate to these companies, and has made money of them.0 -
"We" don't ALL click on any links from here! THAT is "our" choice. Anyone knowing THAT is therefore clicking through to someone else - not acting on some kind of recommendation!
For myself I use other sites entirely for keeping up to take with cashback deals. I got my new one this week via one of those and still want to fill my boots. No skin off my nose if other's don't want to though - or anyone else's responsibility if they do!0 -

Seriously, take the advice. Contact your network, try to get your tariff cut. Be civil and accept you are, as the law stands, in a position of weakness.
The Vodaphone reduction to £5pm is an excellent result. Shame i am with 3!!!0
