Hi all phoned vodaphone earlier today, they have offered to reduce my contract to £25 a month. 150 minutes 100txt's it seems a far cry from 500 minutes 250 txt's. They have told me to call back on Monday as they are in the process of contacting everyone.0

You are wise to wait. We must allow them a reasonable amount of time if we're asking for their help. If they don't give much that's another matter... but I hope (and think) they will. At this stage I'd rather be with Vodafone than the other networks on this - I hope I'm proved right!0

I wonder if they will actually contact everyone who bought through CNM/PBD or if they will just get back to the ones who have already contacted them? Anyone know if this is what happened after dialamobile?
Surely they wouldn't offer a discount to customers who aren't bothered and haven't tried to get money off!?
(PS the 'helpful' Voda guy I spoke to on Thursday about this told me they had only helped out Dialamobile customers as Voda had bought them out!!! I told him they'd gone bust but he was convinced voda had bought them out! When I asked why they then needed help with contracts if they'd simply been bought out...he was stumped...)Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
Well, most staff don't know what they're talking about in any business nowadays. I get that all the time and it's extremely annoying. Marketers hold sway. After all, if Tony Blair and co could put spin before fact why shouldn't everyone else? The really sad thing is that it works or they wouldn't use it!0

Have been having an on-going debate with Vodafone for the past few weeks re their culpability in dealing with resellers who fail to comply with the 'Code of Practice for the Sales and Marketing of Subscriptions to Mobile Networks'. Their response:
The code of conduct protects customers and businesses like Vodafone. This code means that the 3rd party seller has to give correct and up to date information about vodafones services and products, they must only action/update information on your account with your consent.
If the code is broken or they action something incorrectly on your account then they have broken the code of conduct.
The cashback scheme is not covered under the code of conduct as Vodafone did not condone the cash back arrangement as part of there package, this was agreed with by the 3rd party dealer.
I fail to see the point in having the large players such as Vodafone signing this code if they are allowed to pick and choose which parts of the Code they will apply to their resellers?? Plus the fact that they may not condone certain activities in relation to their resellers, but dont alert the consumer to this??0 -
The code of conduct does cover cashback schemes, so they are factually incorrect. Whether they chose to follow it when it suits them is another matter. As with all industry codes, they are only there to play lip service.0

I have just got a phonecall from voadafone after calling them up on friday. They have offered me half price contract for the remainder of my contract. £35.00 to £17.50
This is great news. I would advise everyone ringing up again and asking them i phoned 0870 0779 779.
give it a go!! it looks like vodafone are being the most generous network, juts got to wait for T-mobile and Three
I have had such a nightmare with Vodafone. I called them seconds after the email came in from OneCompare explaining about the CoolNewMobile liquidation and they said it was my problem and that they wouldn't let me move to PAYG or downgrade my contract. They said I could cancel my contract for over £200 which I can't afford either.
I'm having nightmares about this, I didn't think I was taking a risk by taking out this deal, I thought they were a legal company etc etc and all backed up with insurance if it went wrong. We haven't even claimed our first cashback yet, it was due this month. We can't afford £30-40 per month with Vodafone, we've been paying stuff on our zero percent card knowing that we'd get this cashback. I only signed up because I couldn't afford to buy a mobile phone handset and this was 'free'. I told the people at Vodafone that I would never sign up with them again in the future because of this treatment (not even downgrading to the lowest tariff???) and that I would tell everyone I know what has happened in case they want to boycott them too. I guess that's also why I'm posting here so that people realise that Vodafone won't help you even when you are in financial trouble.0 -
Girlfriend has had her T-Mobile contract reduced from £35 down to £30 which is fair enough, bearing in mind the free phone she got is worth £3000

Just rang vodafone on 08700779779. Very rude man told me to ring customer services as he couldnt' help!
Rang 08700 700191 (from landline, 191 from mobile) and after a few moments he went away to ask his colleagues. He had then heard of the problem and said that they are setting up a team of advisers (as said in previous posts) to contact all customers affected and offer them certain deals. When I asked when I was likely to hear he said 'sometime in the next month' but he sounded pretty unsure even about that! I would say.. don't hold you breath :S
I knew I was taking a risk, just didnt' think it was a very big one as assumed it was a reasonably stable reputable company and the only risk would be my error if I mucked up the cashback claim.
Bang goes xmas ey? cancelled this year
