Ds1s choice of meal out this month, he wanted Mcd's so we had that for lunch and then left over salad veggies with hard boiled eggs for tea a good fridge use up before I go shopping again today.
Todays list
* showered and left hair to dry naturally Done
* cut open face cream tube - at least two days worth left in there Done
* ys crumpets for breakfast Done
* check cupboards/fridge/freezer and update shopping list before heading out to aldee Done
* stick to shopping list Done- had to ring dh to ask him to take a pic of the shopping list and text it to me as I'd not taken it with me!
* cook two chickens together as we have family over for lunch and it will give us meat for sandwiches/meals tomorrow too Done
* wash two loads on the quick 30 degree wash - I want to try and get a head start for tomorrow Done and got 1 load tried on the line (between hail stones) and the 2nd load is shirts I've hung on hangers on the airers
* make families lunches for tomorrow
* write up a plan for the week in my bullet journal - need to get back on top of the house this week (I feel like I'm always saying that!)
* check kids are ready for school tomorrow - uniform/homework etc Done
* Ask my sis if we can borrow a box set of films from her - hopefully this will be what we watch with the kids tonight Done and she brought some other films she thinks the boys might like too
** As payment for lunchI got my dad to drill me a hole in the back of a cupboard so that I could put the dvd player in a different cupboard which will make it fit better in the room
Thats my start. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all
I had a lovely day yesterday doing nothing much other than catching up with my bestie. We did go out for a coffee, which is a rare treat for us, and I got a tiny bit of shopping from bee and emm that has helped me to cross another 3 jobs off my frog list.
Got all of my exam papers marked and the data entered, just a small amount of school work to do today. I also sorted out 5 frogs in total, which always feels good. I like that I keep a list of these now.
Made a massive joint of pulled pork, which did dinner last night and has loads of leftovers, which I'll portion and freeze. Any recipe suggestions gratefully received.
I'm out for 3 hours tutoring today - don't much feel like it to be honest but it will be worth it for the money at the end. I'm lucky in that the bad weather hasn't arrived yet, but I don't think it's far away looking out there. I still have 2 loads of washing to get through as well... Also need to tidy up and do the weekly sorting out of rubbish etc. Should be a fairly relaxing day...Not giving up

Morning folks!
Big hugs to all.
Dawn - hoping for the best outcome for you from the consultant xx
Looks like lots of marvellous dfw activity on the thread! Makes my own weekend look pretty poor. However I did:- Have B/D from stores all days
- Had lunch out on Fri with OH and mutual friend but only £32 for the two of us. Came from planned spends.
- Did all my gym as planned. I am knackered.
- Treated OH to Bohemian Rhapsody out of my pocket money.
- Feed the birdies. Saw a very fat nuthatch nibbling at the peanuts
- Took in a dress that I bought 4 years ago
- Started pinning in another dress that hasn't fitted me since I lost weight in 2008
- Sowed some pepper seeds that I found knocking about
- Bought some spring and autumn pea seeds, a sage plant and some sunflower seeds - to be taken out of household spends pot
- Got my big shop in for £25! This included the sage and sunflowers, some bargain packs of sausages and a treat of a bag of randoms!
- Lots of crochet
- Picked up a new tool box for £5 after OH obliterated ours. Decorated it with Lil Bub stickers that came with my calendar
- to be taken out of household spends pot
- Bedding out on the line to dry yesterday
- B/L/D from stores - done
- Prep tomorrow's breakfast, lunch and gym bag - done. I'm trying out prepping things so that I can get a bit more sleep. The 5.45am starts are too much for me. - done
- Ask Oh to bring in prepped seed tray from greenhouse - done and plant some seeds. Label them this time
- done
- Charge phone in work - done
- Check pick my postcode - done
- Tracked food in free app (checking my protein intake) - done
- No alcohol (for the eagle-eyed amongst you who have noticed this re-occurring, this marks 4 weeks alcohol free) - done
- Remind OH to do his accounts/invoices - done
- Stay at home tonight - not going anywhere in this weather!
- Crochet. I am making a blanket but I'm finding the pattern very dull so I'm racing through it. On the plus side it is working up very quickly - done
- Had a brainwave about little honorary nephew's birthday. His mum said no gifts as they were trying to cut down on plastic (and possibly clutter too) but I felt a bit mean so I'm going to make a craft box with all recyclable and repurposed bits. And he can use the box as a fort or something (he's only 3) - will scoot round for bits
- Print out new crochet pattern at work. I am determined that this will be mostly from stash though. - done

I make dirty fries with pulled pork.
Cook some wedges (hm for ultimate mseness!).
Fry up onion, peppers, sweetcorn and any other veggie bits you need to use up
Stir in pulled pork to heat through.
Dump veg and pork on wedges and top with bbq sauce and cheese.
Feels really bad for you but actually works out about 500 calsLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

Thanks all
CLF that pork recipe sounds amazing!
Hope your snow has gone Purps?
Really, really windy here, scarily so  Went to a (unsurprisingly) rubbish outdoor flea market thing. Bought a few bits, but less than £20 spent altogether, including items to sell on.
Clipped hair back to avoid washing it till tomorrow
Bit of business paperwork
Walked dog for a short distance only, as he decided he didn't like the wind, carried him home :rotfl:
Nothing else very ambitious planned for today:
Fold up and put away dry washing on airer - think I got away with not needing to iron any of it  Done, no ironing
Water any seeds / seedlings that need it. Can't have the greenhouse windows open due to the windDone
A bit of housework needed Not done
Food from home - I got a pork fillet out of the freezer for dinner (from a special offer deal at our local butcher's). Got OH to cut it up into medallions - he always does butchery stuff much more neatly than I do. I will roast a big pan of vegetables and we can have the seared medallions on top with gravy and apple sauceEnded up having dinner as late lunch, as we often do on Sundays. Roasted veg were a hit, I did sweet potatoes, ordinary potatoes, carrots, parsnips and onions - and cauliflower. I had some left over, so chucked that in as well. I am probably late to the party, but I hadn't roasted cauliflower before, and it was gorgeous! Definitely looking out for bargainous cauliflowers at the market this coming week!
Make a rhubarb crumble to use the last of the forced rhubarbDone
(My brother usually comes to dinner on Sundays, which is a good excuse to make a pudding - for visitors, right?) :rotfl:
I would like to do some gardening, but struggling to see what I could do in this horrible wind :eek:0 -
"batching cooking, slow/pressure cooker are your friends here as is a couple of times a week something on toast ;-)"
Hi Determined - do batch/double cooking most days (when I cook) cooked chicken for guests last night and this will double up as risotto and pasta bake. That said I spent a log of money yesterday on shopping. Today I will hang out laundry, dye hair and start using some of the online price checkers to start planning shopping in more detail!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

:grouphug: Dawn, sorry I'd missed your post about the drs, I hope you're appointment comes through quickly .
I did an online chat with our broadband provider to ask if the micro filters were still needed in the sockets as I'd realised that ds1 had taken one out of the wall (and in recent months our internet cuts out at times) they did some diagnostics and the result is there is a problem with our router so a new one is being sent
Ordered nuts online as much cheaper then getting them from the supermarket and used a discount code to save 15%
Renewed both mine and dh's car insurances as the renewal was cheaper both than last years and comparison site, just got the house insurance to sort now but I'm fed up of looking at comparisons so will leave that til tomorrow!
Printed off a free return label using reclaimed rm survey paper - just need to remember to post it now!
Ordered some gift digital codes via dh's work perks site, will get 9% cashback (he will print the vouchers off at work too)Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
