    Afternoon all,
Its raining again today (but I knew it would be as I had a hairdressers appointment and it always seems to rain just as I'm paying!)

    So far today I've
    * taken ds2 to free school breakfast club
    * been to the gym and refilled water bottle twice
    * home for a quick brunch with dh (whose wfh which is good for money saving!)
    * out to the hairdressers (last time I went was Novemember I think) good chat, cuppa and haircut for less then £20 so can't complain
    * popped to the drs to pick up prescription I'd ordered and checked about if there was an alternative to ds2s med (he needs a 75mg dose and takes a 25 & 50) there is so they've changed it on the system so next time he can have 1 tablet of 75mg instead iyswim! not money saving to me but less packaging waste I thought!
    * messaged 3 friends about monthly catch ups - lots of friendships have been and gone but I'm making the effort to keep up with these 3 as they're lovely and supportive.
    * checked banking/updated spreadsheet

    To do
    * check cinema times online for the film we want to see tomorrow (need it to fit in around the rugby matches!)
    * book next weeks gym classes online
    * pizza in front of a film night at home with dh & the kids tonight
    * empty bins
    * check fridge - chop any leftover salad veggies to have with pizza later
    * see what I can do/what we have for a dessert tonight
    * try the new sofa covers that have just arrived - really hope we like them as I'm desperate to get this room finished next week (we need to repaint in there and until I've sorted the sofa I don't know if the walls are staying grey or going back to magnolia - I have both paints as we have these colours in other rooms)
    * when dh has finished his work I want to get him to help me move the big tv as I want to check some wires behind it to see if the dvd player could go into a different cupboard which would be far more practical.

Thats about it. Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Hello :hello:
Another week at work survived, but I have certainly fallen into a bit of a rut in terms of work. It seems like a real slog mostly with the kids, and a lack of support. Then when you ask for help it doesn't come. I'm looking forward to a couple of days off and desperately hoping to get a couple of decent nights of sleep when I don't have to get up and go in.
However, I have had to bring a load of marking home so I don't fall too far behind. I'm going to make a start on it tonight as there's a lot to get through.
There's not a lot else to report to be honest. Work, home, sleep, repeat. I have some bananas on the turn in the kitchen that ds asked for then never bothered with so I may get some banana bread made over the weekend :j I love banana bread. Other than that, marking, resting, and working.

    Evening all,

Well todad has been a much more chilled out day compared with the rest of the week, spent £10.70 in wilko on bit and bobs, got quite a lot for my money and was all things i needed!!

    Tomorrow i am aiming for nsd here are my aims for tomorrow;
•sort house out its a state due to decorating •break down dds old bed (its good for nothing) and take to the tip
•visit best friend for an hour, free cuppa and chat whilst the kids plan
    •all meals from cupboards
    • having visitors tomorrow evening (in laws) for a couple of hours so that will be nice too
•mil usually brings chip shop but im on sw and oh being healthy but dd will have it as a treat.
•washer still broke so mil will take washing and dry it...saves me some electric :j
    •change beds in morning too
•oh has made a run for the rabbit at a fraction of the price so hes finishing that off tomorrow if its dry enough...hes not frugal but im rubbing off on him!! :rotfl:
•clean my car out of its dry and maybe ohs car too

I also remembered one more frugal thing i am doing each day....i use kitchen foil for everything but not anymor3 i cook everything i can in a casserole dish even chips and fish fingers, its a little more washing up but thats almost free ;) its only little but it helps!! Tomorrow i am goi g to start finding one little frugal thing i can do each day to save me some pennies....any little daft ideas like that anyone?

Have a great friday evening and saturday morning

I have now listed my full SOA and further action plan - basically the big picture, there is a link above in this post. It will be at least a 5 year plan and I will keep doing challenges along the way.
I have done most of the big things, so I will keep going with all of the smaller every day challenges to keep the fridge full and boy(s) fed. xx

Morning all. Well done for posting you SOA ditty1234, there are lots of knowledgeable people who I'm sure will be along to give you advice on your thread. But sticking with the small things will definitely help you in whatever you decide.

    My list for today:
    Check listings on various sites
Get something out of freezer for tea
    Smalls to prepaid activity
    Vacuum through
Sort through one box of clothes for the small ones to list at an upcoming sale
Some relaxing later, hopefully a decent walk to get my step count up

Have a good day everyone. Purps.

((Hugs)) Ditty, stay with us - and why not start a thread on the DFW Diaries board too - if you message one of the board guides they will probably be able to move the thread you have started with your SOA etc :)

Well, I finally got to see the doctor about my test results yesterday, and it appears they should have contacted me earlier and referred me :( They don't think it is anything life changing (though I may need a big operation) but need a consultant to decide what best to do. Apparently I should get the referral appointment quicker than I managed to get the GP appointment to find out my test results  Anyway, we are where we are, and I am going to carry on regardless and cross each bridge as I come to it!

    So, today I have:
    Planted new potatoes :j
    Sowed spring onion seed
Planted out some thyme plants in a nice old galvanised bowl that I acquired from somewhere years ago
Dug up some herb plants and put in a pot for DS's GF as hers have died
    Cleaned up kitchen
Prepped RM surveys stuff for next week

    Still to do:
Post a RM surveys item (must nip out in a minute and do this quick!) Done
Pack ebay items ready to post on Monday Done
Shopping delivery later Allput away, but must update my spreadsheet
No other spends intended. Not bought anything else
    Used fridge stuff for lunch
Made fishcakes for dinner, with leftover mashed potato and a tin of fish (tuna today). Added parsley from the garden, seasoning, a teaspoon of capers chopped up and an egg. Coated with HM breadcrumbs. We had this with a big salad, that included HG microgreens, and used up 3 spring onions and the end of a cucumber that were lurking in the bottom of the fridge :)

Partly dried washing on airer to finish off
Sowed more microgreens as I had emptied a tray. Used same compost, and thickly sowed with some old lettuce seeds. If they don't come up I will know to throw that packet away! And I can always sow something else :)

Still need to wash up (yet again), and update spreadsheet.

Thanks to all. My rugula in the window cill has come out to say hello! Got to be a good sign that I am doing the right thing. I do think I can cut about £40 off my monthly grocery bill, but it's hard, I don't get home till after 6 most days and I don't always want to spend all weekend cooking!

Morning all :hello: woke up to thick snow falling  it's stopped now and hopefully some rain will be along to wash it away :D

    My list for today:
Fill up unit I moved yesterday which will work better in the space and reduce clutter
    Smalls to prepaid swimming
Out later for a walk, will involve a hot drink met from personal spends. Will take drinks for smalls.
    No washing required :j
Have a small sewing pile so will do that later, never takes as long as you think and is satisfying knowing you've repaired something. Obviously not at determined level. I'm just talking about buttons and things :rotfl:
Triage fridge, freeze what is cooked and won't be requires for next few days
    Make overnight oats
    Check daily postcode
Get bags and packed lunches ready for tomorrow

Have a good day all. Purps.
