    Evening all

I have finally finished the wbd outfit omg never again if its something so hard!! I gave up and went and brought a pattern and fabric glure this afternoon, had a melt down towards the end...but i pulled myself together and all i can say is my dd isnt going to school naked tomorrow as it resembles clothing lol!! :rotfl:

I feel like im also losing control with spending i didnt do a shopping list this week and ive spent more than i can afford on food thoughout the week i am going to do one this evening oh is putting up madams bed (hes in a mood because i was finishing wbd outfit) so hes doing it himself so when dd gets to bed (prob be mine until hes finished) i will do a list and order it click and collect i might try mr a this week as i went in there for the first time in months sunday and the food tasted much better than my usual mr t stuff!!

Anyway i plan for a nsd tomorrow except shopping i have enough petrol to last me i am aiming for 5 nsds for the next week...i need to get back my control!!

I will return in the morning with my dfw habits for the day......

  • Oh dear Emzmom - sounds like you've had a bit of a day!!

I'm still in work - looking like 2-2.5 hours of overtime. But still, can't complain! That'll help with the bills :)

    Morning all :)
Up early again, and it is pouring with rain :(
    Today's plans are:
Wash hair and leave to dry naturally (Done)
Some of my lovely roasted forced rhubarb for breakfast fruit :) (Done)
Market (and flea market) in nearby bigger town this morning. This flea market is usually useless, but it is free to go in, and the nearby actual market is very good for cheap veg etc :)
Buy a birthday card for GS1 and drop in to DS who will be seeing him at the weekend. Will enclose some money towards his next trip / festival (he and his GF love travelling :)). Will check my card stash first, but don't think I have anything suitable.
Few bits of shopping needed - I have a shopping voucher from RM surveys that will probably cover most of that.
    Wrap an ebay sale
Sort out RM surveys stuff for next week
Ought to think about a bit of stocktaking, as it is getting near the end of the tax year  This involves emptying and sorting lots of stuff wrapped up in boxes. Hopefully it will yield some items to freshen up my sales unit.
    Fridge shrapnel for lunch

Make cauliflower cheese and rhubarb crumble for dinner
Hope everyone has a good day, and the weather is nicer where you are!

Morning Dawn and all who follow. Hope the weather perks up at your end. Ok here for now.

    My list today:
Fill in a form for something and call someone about it
Call someone else about a health matter relating to one of the smalls
Think about tea/ get something out of freezer if need be and something can't be rustled up from fridge
Cut up a mango that was lurking in the fridge
Ironed  and sewed a hole up in dd pyjamas. They are wearing the most for WBD otherwise I wouldn't do the ironing bit :o
    Check banking/ update sheet
    Check daily lotto
Try and go for a run
Call cc about a special code I need for access that can't seem to get

That'll do for now. Have a good day everyone. Purps.

    Morning folks!

It's my Saturday today. Feeling pretty chirpy at the moment. Pouring with rain here in the NW too. But it's good for the plants :)

    Small things today:
    • B/D from stores - done
    • At in-laws today sorting out books so heating off all day - done
    • Lunch at in laws - done
    • Would get a shower at the in-laws too as I'll be filthy after grubbing about in their loft, but their shower is like being dribbled on by a man who's been lost in the desert for a week with no flask. Shower at home instead. It's the one thing that my LL def has right in this house.
    • Cooked up lamb mince that was defrosted and not eaten. This will be today's tea - done
    • Entered 2 competitions on local radio station. Decided not to text "CASH" for £1.50 but entered for free online! - done
    • Chill out this evening with my crochet - done
    • Put away washing - done
    • Emptied dehumidifier into "free flush" bucket - done
    Have a good one all

    Morning all,
Great news, Sanctioned. Yes, it's a good feeling to get shot of the last of it.
1LL - L/O bacon v unusual in our house too, but I can sometimes manage to whack it into the freezer if I'm quick enough & mr f is looking in the other direction. This was from Christmas when we thought we'd need more than we actually did for PIBs & devils on horseback. Anyway, it made a lovely pasta bake.
And today's list of frugal activity......not much of a list today as left things fairly open in my diary to allow time to pack for going away, sort a few bits for when we get back, etc, but I shall probably achieve more things than are here, as frugal activity is fairly inherent here these days:
*Plan everything I need do do/pack re short break - it's very short indeed, but nevertheless, planning always saves us money. The reality, as we all know, is that even taking a flask & a packed lunch for two can easily save £15+.
*Next week's meal plans - all done - just need to check pantry for a few bits.
*Write shopping list - it doesn't look like it's going to be a huge one.
*Check my greenhouse seed trays to see if they need a sprinkle of water or a layer of fleece.
*Check my little indoor heated propagator - done - 2 more tomato seedlings have popped up overnight.
*Bake the half & half rye sourdough loaf I mixed up yesterday - done & cooling on rack.
    *Did 2 surveys.
*Cashed out of Ipsos for a £5 voucher - updated my signature on here as I like to keep a tally of my annual survey earnings.
*Transfer list of everyone for whom I still need to buy a birthday card this year to my notebook, so as to have it with me in my bag when I'm out & about.
*Knit more of Christmas present socks if my poorly hand doesn't hurt too much. Not too bad yet, but it was awful last night. It's not improving & I have visions of being sent for a big anti-inflammatory injection before too long - thankfully I'm not like mr f with needles & am unlikely to end up on the floor!
*Re-pot one of my conservatory plants which is in a bad way - I don't want to lose it, as it belonged to my Mum - a stephanotis - the most gorgeous scent when it flowers, & she was so proud of it. Think will give it a nice lunch of some seaweed solution & see if it rallies.
And that's about it - I shall doubtless do some other things as I go about my day, but the main one is going to be deciding what I need to pack to take away with me - I can't even decide on clothes, so that must be today's priority in case anything needs a quick launder.
    Love to all,
    F x

  • Hi all, raining in my part of the NW too CLF!!
Well done to all those participating in WBD - glad my DDs are too old for that now - still costing me a lot of money though!
On that note, not a very frugal week for me as DD2 came home from uni for a quick overnight visit & cost me about £15 in Mr As and we went out for coffee too.
Have also paid for next course of exercise classes and tomorrow i'm going to the theatre so owe my friend for the ticket.
I have eaten from stores most of the week though and said friend is giving me tea tomorrow so that's another saving.
Got DD2 birthday in a couple of weeks so need to buy a couple more presents - have reined in the budget though as supporting her through uni.
Well done to those who have inspiring debt busting stories!
The comment about painting the fence in fluorescent pink made my smile!
    Take care everyone
