Fantastic progress on the debt pay-down, Ditty - Keep up the good work, there's nothing like that feeling when the last payment turns your balance into a nice shiny fat zero. It's well worth the wait when it comes.
Today's list is nice & mundane - a meeting early tonight means I need to run on an earlier schedule all day.
*Put a colour on my yukky roots - easy to do & much cheaper than all those years when I used to go & get my colour done at a salon.
*Did 2 surveys.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Make a pasta bake - it will use up leftover bacon from Christmas, last week's unwanted pepper, yesterday's leftover mushrooms, half a red onion that's been knocking around the fridge all week, half a tin of frozen tomatoes & whatever else I can find! I love using up.
*Remind mr f to tackle a frog.
*Sorted clean laundry (no money spent on drying it this week, all line-dried, yay!) & ironed only the few items which really needed it. Years ago, I even used to iron tea towels! Those days are long gone.
*Mix up a sourdough loaf for baking tomorrow.
*Update my DFW diary as last night's post got eaten.
And that will be it for today as need to prep for my meeting too.
Cheers all,

Afternoon folks
Sanctioned Parts List - Congratulations!
Ditty - well done - a grand in 2 months is amazing
Big hugs and hellos to all.
Not so great last night - I really fancied going out to fave cafe after work. We haven't been since my birthday in December as we were being super frugal. This unfortunately led to OH loving being out so much that we had tea out. I did offer to cook as had already defrosted mince but he was very keen. Only had a main meal though and managed to steer OH towards a meal that was £3 cheaper.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores
- HM toast with peanut butter and hm jam - done
- HM energy protein balls - done
- The protein shake from yesterday - done
- HM lentil and bacon soup - done
- Cottage cheese and oatcakes - done

Afternoon all
Taking it easy this afternoon, as we had logs delivered this morning and I had to help OH to move them. Shouldn't be doing that atm, but he couldn't do it on his own. Last lot this winter, anyway! DD came round for lunch afterwards with little GS, who seemed happier than he has for a whileHe has been constantly ill for weeks (they are off to the doctor's again this afternoon) so hopefully he is getting better at last!
Other small things:
Another small ebay sale
Folded up dry washing from airer and put it in bag ready for my brother to collect (it is his washing, he doesn't have a machine and it really doesn't bother me putting an extra load in a week or whatever - as long as he is living in his flat and not here)
Sowed 2 varieties of tomato seedsWas about to cover the pots with plastic bags and place in the kitchen windowsill, but had the brainwave to evict some rather tatty succulents from the pretty but damaged (which is why I still have it, I have loads of broken things that I can't sell, but can't part with either) old terrarium in the dining room and put them in there instead. They now have their own tiny indoor greenhouse to start them off
Sprinkled some fertiliser round the large pots in the front garden - they look really pretty atm
Pulled forced rhubarb, will bake it laterDone
Covered rhubarb crown with compost to protect a bit from any frost. I will leave it to its own devices now!
No plans for any more spending today, not going anywhere, and dinner will be from the freezer. Having said that, I did have to pay for the logs! Nothing else spent, which is just as well!
Did a couple of surveys and managed to claim a £5 Amazon voucher :T
Congrats to Sanctioned Parts List on becoming debt free, and to Ditty for being well on the way :T0 -
Hello all :hello:
I've not posted for a little while but have been catching up when I can.
It's been a spendy couple of weeks (mostly kids stuff), and I'm feeling a little bit out of control so I need to do a big reconcile and see where we are. I'm waiting for an unknown, possibly large bill from the garage, which is making me a bit nervous.
It's World Book Day tomorrow and all DS x 3 want to go as Hobbit/Lord of the Rings characters. DS3 has been determined to go as Sauron, (something he saw on Pintrest), and I have been equally determined I am not making that much effort! (Last year, we put the effort in, only for him to have a meltdown at the school gates when he changed his mind - not happening again!)
He has now finally agreed to Legolas like his older brother, and looking through my fabric stash to see what I could do, I came across 2 perfect green leather jerkins - result! I think they were from my Nana's fabric stash from years ago when she looked into leather work and have just migrated over to me. All I need to do is make a couple of cloaks (using stash), a couple of leather ties and a couple of accesories. Hopefully I'll have 2 x Legolas and one Bilbo Baggins for a little effort but no spending. :money:
In other news, DS3 has been off school today after projectile vomiting all down our hallway at 2am this morning. He is completely fine, and I suspect pancake/sugar overdose. After re-arranging mine and DH shifts to stay at home with him, I have everything crossed school will allow him back tomorrow! I spent the morning washing carpet and disinfecting everything just in case. Icky towels have ended up in the tumble drier though, as the airers are full and it's been raining all day.
I'm still waiting for news of my HSBC account switch - the bonus would really come in handy to cover some Scout/Cub/Beavers upcoming trips.
Found a few little things to list on ebay - really must get around to listing them!
Need to price up fence panels after our rotten one finally bit the dust in the weekend storms. It is not our boundary, but the neighbour has made it very plain they will not contribute anything. It needs to be replaced though as currently 3 houses are staring directly into our living room.
Off the library now before school run for a free DVD to keep kids amused while I tackle costumes tonight. Turkey currey from the freezer today, and HM naan breads if I can be bothered.
Hoping everything is back to normal tomorrow!!:rotfl:0 -

Evenin' all
Still acting as taxi here so days aren't quite my own but still did achieve a little
Ys bread finished off with breakfasts
Gym class done and refilled water bottle
Returned a couple of throws I'd bought for the sofa we are wanting to recover as the throws had pulls/catches in them as we opened the pack so don't think they'd wear very well.
Bought two other throws whilst in the shop but by the time I've got home I've realised that I was buying as they were reduced and would fit rather then because I actually liked them - so they're going back tomorrow too!
Washed a load on the quick 30 degree wash, no chance of getting it out on the line as its hardly stopped raining all day here. Will hang over radiators for when they're on later.
Kids shared the salad I'd made for myself last night (but was then unwell) in a wraps with a tin of tuna.
Checked banking/updated spreadsheet
Bought a pack of ys grapes, when washing lots of them are very soft, so I've portioned up the firm ones for tonight and the soft ones have gone into the freezer. This is a great way to not waste grapes! My ds actually prefers a frozen grape to a fresh one.
Dishwasher is currently running on a quick wash
Chicken curry for tea tonight for dh & I (using up simplyc00k recipe/spice kits from my dad)
Swapped some rugs/cushions around between rooms for a makeover for free.
Made families lunches for tomorrow
I think thats about it. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Ditty & Sanctioned - well done
Chasing, wow to the WBD outfits!! Our school weren't dressing up but then they've told the kids today that they can do if they want to  Luckily ds2 isn't bothered about it and said he'd go as the kid from Diary of a Wimpy kid (he knows I have a printed face mask in the back of the cupboard from ds1 years ago) but said he'd rather just go in uniform
Dawn, hope you're not going to suffer for lifting those logs!
Clf, great work steering your OH to a cheaper meal! I hope you both really enjoyed it after so long. (my mum tells me we have to eat out at the places we really like or they'll go out of business and we won't have the choice then!
Foxgloves - what is this strange thing you speak of.....leftover bacon!!!! Thats not something the men in my life ever leave "left"
Natlie, great going on your weightloss!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Congratulations Sanctioned... fantastic news!
Groundhog Day for me a bit today - poor night of sleep, work dreads, challenging day, feeling better once I get home.
Another day closer to the weekend at least, and another nsd. Plus I found 50p on the floor in my classroom at the end of the day.
Dinner was leftovers done in the microwave, and a couple of ibuprofen for a banging headache. The quest for a good night's sleep continues. I will get there though. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
