  • CCL erm that's such a hard one! Sometimes I find sewing really energising and others I just need to do nothing and then sewing feels a chore! Make a decision and you'll either be like :j or  and then you'll know :p

  • I've been trying to convince oh to pay me to spring clean the house :rotfl:he was not having any of it when I suggested it to him earlier. We laughed so hard!!! :rotfl:

Am thinking I'm going to have an early night. I'm sleeping for the same amount of hours just not sleeping very restfully. Waking up several times a night so during the day I have pockets of feeling wiped out. Bodes well for the next stint of 12 hour shifts...

with that in mind need to charge my phone and pull my pack up together. It's all done, just needs gathering into appropriate tupperwares etc

Dnms & Ccl, I hope you both slept better then me! I've been awake since about 3am :(

Todays plan is to try & work on things that I can do something about instead of worrying about something that isn't in my control
    * check banking/update spreadsheet & email it back to me as a back up Done
    * ys bread for both boys with eggs for breakfast before they both go on the school bus this morning Done
    * continue drinking plenty of water, good for the pocket & waistline etc Done
    * gym session (nice to try a different one to normal as i'm acting as taxi for my parents again and can't get to my usual timed class) Done
    * stew a couple of pears, an apple and a plum that have gone too far in the fruit bowl & make a crumble topping to have as a dessert tonight Done but I messed up the crumble topping!! I think I've mis-measured the butter! ah well it'll taste fine!
    * prep salad veggies to go with chicken for tonights meal Done
    * make families lunches for tomorrow Done
    * update ds2s medical file
    * order repeat prescriptions online for ds2 & dh Done
and see if I can book myself an appointment Done
    * put washing away off the radiators - none should need ironing thankfully Done
    * start getting insurance info together for both cars and the house - I'd made a note about arranging new cover 21 days before renewel after reading the :money: newsletter a while ago
    * move some furniture around in the spare room (as I've been laid awake I've reorganised it in my head, I think it will work better for us (and save money as dh's thought was going to involve a £50+ spend)
    * scrub down a wooden table we brought back from rental house the other week as their kids had got nail varnish, stickers and glittery glueall over it as I want to use it in the ^ room
    * check the fridge to make sure nothing is getting forgotten about Done
** ring gp to order ds2 meds as not available online for some reason
** add more to the cs bag thats sat in my car ready for when I go past as ds won't use the St David's day outfit again next year
** maybe take back library books and collect a reserved one if I can fit it in today if not it will collect at the weekend - I do love our library

I'll be back with more/to update as the day goes on.
    Take care all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

    Morning all!

It's pancake day, yes it's pancake day, it must be p-p-p-p-p-p-p-p-pancake day!

Anyone who gets that reference gets extra brownie points!

ccl - big hugs to you. To be honest, you've been coping with so much stress for so long, it sounds like your body and brain are asking for a time out. I felt very similar to that a couple of years ago. Keep being gentle on yourself and resting xx

DNMS - I hope you start sleeping better soon

Hugs to all those who want them xx

I'm feeling much more chipper today - the funk of the last couple of days has lifted. Not much to do today:
    • B/L/D from stores:
      • HM toast with hm jam and peanut butter - nom
      • Hm protein energy balls- nom
      • Oatcakes with lo hummous- nom. Decided to forego the hummous.
      • Lamb curry and rice - nom
      • Protein shake with kale and apple (trying to get more vitamins!)
      • Lamb kebabs - nope. OH desperate to go out
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Gym at lunchtime - done
    • Pancakes?
    • Crochet?
    • Heating off on on low - done
    • OH to do housework - done
    • No alcohol - done
    Have a good one all

As you say CLF it's pancake day, my dd came into our room this morning singing a song she had made up celebrating the fact.

Luckily for her today's meal plan is dedicated to this:
Breakfast: American pancakes, bacon & maple syrup
Lunch: savory pancakes filled with mushrooms and cheese, if I'm feeling inspired I will make galettes (buckwheat pancakes)
Dinner: duck pancakes followed by crepes with a variety of toppings for pudding

    Today's small list:
    PAD
    NSD
    Home educate children for free
    Make bread
    Make porridge
    Make muesli
    Stick to meal plan
    Update book with yesterdays spends

Love your pancake based menu! Your DD might enjoy watching the Maid Marian pancake day episode on youtube. Still a fave with me and my mum and we are 35 and 60 now!
