Avon - Hints and Tips?

My first order went in today! £179.50 for customer orders (I managed to shave £6.50 off by back ordering - thanks for the tip!). My total was about £205 including brochures, £6 of stuff for me and the start up kit etc. I'm not sure what they do and don't pay the commission on though for those bits.
I also think I'll get hit for several quid thanks to the buy one get one for £1 deal as one person order two higher priced items and the other two lower priced ones. Say it was £12 and £10 then £6 and £5. So I SHOULD be paying £12 and £6 but I won't, I'll get billed for £12 and £10 apparently! This is what I've been told anyway. It's not very fair really is it?
Anyway, how did everyone else do for this campaign?
Elle, I think and i'm not 100% certain but I think when they do offers like this, they just put them all on at half price. So say the items cost what you've put above, you will be charged £16.50 but your customers will be paying £13 and £7 = £20. So you should make £3.50 plus you'll get 25% discount off the £16.50 as well.
I hope this makes sense!! Please somebody if i'm not right tell me because i'd hate to give the wrong info out!!
Also Elle, you get commission on anything out of the brochure (whether it's for you or a customer) but not HT demo products, clearance products, brochures, stationery, the starter pack etc. But these all count towards your total sales (and towards the PC) The only thing that doesn't count towards PC is your admin fee.
I did quite well for campaign 9, haven't even put my books out for campaign 10 yet :rotfl: I got £350 on my account and £90 on my OH account, that's including everything, HT items, stationery etc. I spent about £30 on clearance stuff for a car boot sale in all that as well.
Just got more territory off my BDM so hopefully my sales should go up, yippeee!! Think happy & you'll be happy

I know, I should be more positive! it's just the door knocking that gets me a bit worked up. Those that answered the door said they didn't want it, and i suppose i am worried that no one will order anything!
I must remember that if someone was coming to my door i'd take a brochure and be happy to have a look/be polite etc.
Did all of you experienced reps knock doors when giving out the books, or when picking up? when you first started? if you know what i mean!
i really, really would like to be good at this, and i'm hoping it'll make me more confident - eventually LOL0 -

I did and still do, door knocking. What do you say when they open the door? I always try to be really upbeat and smiley and I just say, sorry to bother you, can I interest you in an Avon brochure? If they say no, I just smile and say thanks anyway and if they yes, i'm even more upbeat, they're probably scared of me actually :rotfl: I always tell them when i'll go back and tell them they can leave it on the doorstep if they want and to ring me if they've got any questions in the meantime.
How many houses are in your territory, roughly? Just don't let the no's get you down hun, like somebody once told me if somebody says no to you, nothing has changed, you haven't lost anything:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy

We never bother knocking
I didn't at first but then I was losing so many books that I started knocking, i've got 500+ house territory and I just can't afford to lose so many books.
EDIT: I only knock if it's a new house, not a customer/somebody who's had a brochure before. Think happy & you'll be happy

We just put a note in with the books saying when we will collect and if they didnt want anoher to pop there address on it so we dont disturb again, seems to work for us,we use the campaign behind when trying houses so if we loose them its not a problem as we are only going to put them in the recycle bin anyway, our teritory is about 450 houses but we only have 80 or so regulars0

I door knock because sometimes people fill their order in on the doorstep! Deanos, maybe you should try it. You might find yourself some new customers.0

Hello - just a quick question - book 10 doesn't appear to have the Dry Oil Body Spray (soft and fresh) (it is on page 57 of book 9). Is the dual-softening body oil (soft & nourish) or the Bath Oil (soft and fresh) the same/similar product (for insect repellent)??
I know I can back order for the customers who have asked for it but I was hoping to be able to promote it to all my customers this time!0 -
No worries folks! I have found it!!!0
