thanks for your opinions - i'm feeling a lot more positive now! been re-reading the whole thread, and it looks like i'm not the only one who was nervous at first.
so tomorrow i'm going to pick up and will hopefully meet some nice people;-)
going to get some slips prepared so that those i do have to post through can opt out too.
thanks again!0 -
Collected 1st lot of brochures today - got 2 orders totalling £30 and 1 more definate regular book taker. Re-delivered to next street and this time I knocked so as not to waste books - gave 3 books to possible customers and had a handful of 'not in'. If I get orders from all 3 then the two roads will be fine with 6 regular customers (hopefully)0

We did try it when we first started but didnt find it worthwhile.0 -

Do you not knock on the door at all? Not for delivering the brochure or collecting it? Do you do one stop selling, you only go to each house once then don't you and that's to deliver the order?
Some of my regular customers don't put the books out for various reasons and prefer me to knock on for the order.
Does anybody else get really excited when their order is coming? I'm getting about 12 boxes tomorrow and I can't wait...it's such a shame for me :rotfl::heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Sorry if this is not right place to post..feel free to suggest different forum
Brought two bags a few campaigns ago Each around the £14 mark but was on 2 for £15. The brown ones strap has started to come away and will soon break so going to stop using it. If I can contact my rep (not got number but think I have right address so will drop note round as shes just done a brochure collection) will I be able to get an exchange. Really would like same bag but if unavailable what is Avons policy. really don't wany my rep to lose out.0 -
If it's a faulty item, then there shouldn't be a problem.
If for some reason the bag is no longer available, then your rep would be given a credit on their account so as to re-imburse you (£7.50)0 -
thanks Ironed out...will drop a note into her and ask her to contact me. just hate returning items as would hate for her to lose out. Hopefully they will have replacement as nice bag and know faulty stuff rare from avon0

Privateuni- I know people have already answered this but I just wanted to say that Im only on my second camp but I still get super nervous when I start knocking. I live in a big block of appartments so i just knock and say "Hi, I live downstairs and im the new Avon lady for this building, just wondered if you fancied a flick through the latest brochure?". Ive found that by having this set line then i feel less nervous because i dont really have to stand there thinking "what shall i say, what shall i say?" and getting myself worked up. If a man opens the door i make a bit of a (poor) joke and say "Hello, i live downstairs and im doing avon, do you have a gf or flatmate that might be interested in the brochure-or might you like some nice lipgloss for yourself? haha". Its not really funny but its lighthearted and it enables you to tell if they're worth knocking on next time. I got a £9 order from some guy's sister so its worth an ask.
I hope that helps you feel a bit less nervous:beer::happylove If you do what you've always done, you'll get where you've always got! :heartpuls0 -
aww thanks Liverpool louise, that does help:)
at least i know i'm not the only one who gets a bit nervous!
