I was told recently by a chemist that putting effercent asprin tablets into your petrol tank will increase mpg by 13%, I tried it and got an increase of 15%. You must use one asprin tablet to every 10 litres of fuel, it MUST be water soluble/effercent asprin and it DOES NOT WORK with diesel.0

More seriously, top tip is the Egg credit card that I have to admit being on the verge of cutting up since the benefits over other cards completely evaporated, but from now until end March they're giving 2p per litre instant cashback on all Shell purchases. Nice money saving bonus!
And since the Shell at Chiswell Green (near M25 J21a) is on my route home every day and is the cheapest fuel station for miles around, I'm an even happier moneysaving bunny
Cheers
GeoffreyI'd be happier on holiday in Brittany than being at work !0 -

If you get a Shell Citi Credit Card then you get 3% back at Shell filling stations. If you join the Shell Drivers Club (like a Tesco Clubcard) then you get even more :money:!!!! I never thought I would prefer an oil company over a supermarket!!
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO PIPELINE CAR !!!!!!!Yes, I know really, and it was a rhetorical question, but we have been waiting long enough now, haven't we?!0 -
I have got an Asda Mastercard and that gives me an EXTRA 2p/litre OFF every time I fill up.:money:0

Value of stirling plummiting? Currently $1.3372 = £1.00, was about $2 = £1 not so long ago
General inflation?
To provide for a bit of bubbly at the shareholders annual meeting?

From Shell Customer Service CentrePetrol prices are based on traded refined product prices and not
traded oil prices, there is a time lag between oil prices
increasing/decreasing and refined product going up/down.
Price of refined product is not only influenced by oil price and
therefore a direct correlation cannot always be drawn.
- A major influence is demand for fuel (can drive refined product
prices up even if oil is static or going down)
- Another is refining capacity, while linked to the previous
point, even if demand for fuel is static a reduction in capacity
(caused by a refineries breaking down) can increase prices.
On Shell dealer locations Shell cannot legally stipulate how these
sites should price product.
The aggressiveness of competition does, differ from place to place.
This means that although prices in local areas are often very close
to one another, variations can occur. The most intense competition
tends to occur in areas with high population densities and large
numbers of service stations.Thank you for reading this message.0 -

Just a heads up to everyone. ASDA recently wrote me to advise there 2p per litre off petrol forcourt prices will end with effect 1st march when the discount will lower to only 1p per litre. This, they say reflects the recent fall in oil prices..lol..given they (and others) are still charging more per litre now at less than $40 a barrel than they were charging around 1 year ago when the barrel price was higher..its a bit of a joke..but at least I had a few discounts while it lasted..0
