Also everyone should make the most of the Tesco price matching promise (which I heard of via mse:money: long ago and which, surprise, surprise, Tesco don't broadcast too loudly) ...
if you can find fuel cheaper within 3 miles they will refund...

Hmmm. That's good, I suppose... but perhaps we should not be so taken in by the PR spin on this.

What we should all actually do is ask WHY they have the 3 mile exclusion at all.

ASDA has a NATIONAL price for unleaded petrol and diesel. Havinga a "We won't be beaten locally" clause is just hiding their high prices behind a public relations slogan designed to deceive us.

It is quite clearly unfair to drivers who do not live near enough to an ASDA store to be able to take advantage of the lower prices they always have over the Tesco goliath!!

  • One BIG snag with fuel saving in modern diesel cars--the DPF!
The cars are made to comply with lower emissions rules but you have to drive uneconomically for some of the time to burn the deposits away!!
  • recently i heard an advert on the local radio for hydrofuel.com. I looked at there website and it looks very impressive, has anyone tried this and does it work

Morrison supermarket have cut the price of unleaded to 97.9p in Hull [I think the diesel was 101.9p].
ALSO, spend £40 in store and get a 5p off a litre voucher - this may be limited though, sorry forgot to check the voucher.

  • Not sure if petrol prices are being discussed somwhere on the forums (they must be!) but i can't find it.

As has been in the paper Adsa has reduced the price of petrol to 92.9p.

I'm still going to fill up at my local morrisons tonight as i have a 5p off per litre voucher. question is ...the article says only fill your tank up half way(so that your car is lighter), but surely with my 5p off i should fill up completely?

on the other hand maybe the prices will come down more by next week and i'll wish i'd waited lol. I know we're only talking £2 or £3 but i'm thinking long term and trying to perfect my tactics lol.

does asda offer any similar buy-shopping-get-money-off-fuel deal?

anyone out there getting cheaper petrol that morrisons 94.9p minus 5p = 89.9p per litre?

Ps. These price drops seem to be often led by asda and are also often on a friday. I'm driving my first car and am getting quite obsessed with my Miles Per Gallon.  :j :T :rotfl: :A  :D;)
Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

    Unleaded 86.9p
    V-Power Unleaded 94.9p
    Diesel 102.9p

    I was shocked!!

    That is cheap alright!

There's a few posts above talking about Tesco being 1p more than anyone else, I have to agree and draw your attention to my post #53 in this thread

  • Certainly around my area Shell is ALWAYS cheapest over Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's and because of that, I have got a Citi Shell Mastercard as it gives me 3% off every fill up at Shell :j
