No doubt they don't uplift existing Internet Saver accounts and we'll have to go through the bother of opening a new one and transferring money across to get the extra 0.09%.....still "every little helps"

As I found out today. Once opened and I moved my money across from the older account. I cannot access it for several days why they do "checks"! Despite having had several saving accounts and two current accounts with Tesco since they first went into the banking business! I hope the checks free it soon!

...........indeed to the points made by Shedman and fly-catchers. Tesco Bank are doing "checks" - not helped by things like them presenting the information you used when you set up the previous account - including "how long at current address" - and not making that item in particular changeable.......doh!

The way round it would be to transfer a small amount over, whille they do their 'checks'.  When that has been completed you can move the rest !
Thank you for reading this message.

Logged in to Tesco account and opened the new saver. Instantly available online and transferred full balance from old to new account. Phoned tesco and closed the old account. 20 minutes the whole process.
I certainly agree there could be an automated 'upgrade' process of some kind, and no idea why you can't close the old acount online - it is an online account after all!.
    But overall no problems.

Unless you try to withdraw from that account now within the next 3-5 working days, of course.

Gave up trying with Tesco.  Couldn't apply from logged in, filled in the first page and it just logged me out.  Started from logged out, filled in first page, asked me to log in, filled in second page, went to confirm page, pressed next and said application timed out - which I believe is a long standing problem.
