Open a new one as a higher rate comes out, old one comes to the end of its bonus etc. Opened the first one in 2014

Started from logged out, filled in first page, asked me to log in, filled in second page, went to confirm page, pressed next and said application timed out - which I believe is a long standing problem.
Me too - tried Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Safari... all 'timed out'.

Opening Tesco Instant Saver
The secret would appear to be NOT to enter you NI number when applying for a new account as it processes fine then.
I had the same issue as some of the recent posters, until I worked that out.4 -

I think their system is temperamental as I applied last week and they said they needed to do checks despite me having old savings accounts open with them. The current accounts were closed a couple of weeks ago. I never heard anything from them. Applied again today message came up they were doing a check but it would not effect my credit rating. A few moments later the account was opened"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Tesco bank have been aware of this glitch in their application process for some time, according to a frustrated customer service adviser who helped me open a account on the phone several months back. You'd think they'd just remove that field from the application form.....
