I opened the 4.3% Coventry ISA last month and deposited 20,000. Is it possible to transfer it to the new 4.9%?
Just did this takes 5mins, to open and transfer.  Now off to transfer my ISA from YBS who seem to be lagging way behind.  Seems to take a lot longer with external transfers

My YBS ISA is at 5.20% 🤷‍♂️
But only good at that rate up to £20K, then it's 4.70% so anything else and you could transfer it to Coventry at 4.90%.

Further to my earlier message about logging into Coventry, the issue seems to have been resolved.

Incidentally, I've now transferred my ISA twice in the last two weeks (the most recent one to Coventry) and in both cases the transfer completed the next day, so I'm pleased how quick the process now is. One reason why I'd only pick providers that use the electronic BACS service.

I've just applied for the Leeds Limited Issue Online Access Account (Issue 50) 5.1%

I had been waiting for an activation code for my regular saver, but decided to ring to see if there was another way to set this new account up. I was told to apply as a new customer because the account is not available after today

So, I've done this and sent an email for the accounts to be merged as advised.

I've not yet funded it as the account is not yet recognised - I am hoping this will not cause a problem

Blimey, one of mine took a month! All that lost interest.

I rarely switch unless it's a big difference in % interest so I would be interested to know how much difference financially all this switching makes ?

An extra £104 approx for me over the next year, that's the difference between not switching and switching. Assuming I don't switch again, don't withdraw any money and that the old and new ISA's stay at the same rates they are at present. For me it was just worth it!

LOL £2 a week and only if you don't switch again, wouldn't be worth the effort as far as I'm concerned

I don't switch my savings unless it's a good jump but I do switch current accounts for incentives

£1,700 soon to be £1,900 in less than a year

Your old provider should have been paying interest up to the date of the transfer so you should not have lost much interest.

If I were to switch ISA again it's because it would be to gain more on top of the £104!

I too have gained a similar figure to you in switching CA's .... but why not do both? And also move non-ISA money around too as rates increase .... all part of making your money loose as little of it's value to inflation as possible!

Everyone's circumstances are different, I'm retired and have the time to do it, and find it little effort ... if it's not worth it for you, that's fine by me :)
I don't have ISAs My pension and savings don't put me in that category. YET

I'm a widower, retired to at 82 years old and like an easy life, no stress no hassle, I drive and go where and when I want do what I want

I could save £2 a week or maybe more by shopping at different supermarkets, I use Tesco only,  I know exactly where everything I want is, Aldi, M&S, B and M are across the road but I stick to Tesco it's easier

I Know at 82 there can't be that many years left to run although I'm quite fit, I know if things progress roughly as they are now my funds will get me through and if they don't they don't,  I won't worry about it
